Software is done via Wifi using the smart hub button. Firmware is done via USB. I don't like the third party sites in this link, get it from Sinotec's website
Check your router to make certain it is allowing the connection from wi-fi, you might have to enter the password on the TV.
You should be able to use it with just the wi-fi.

It should be on the bottom of the unit assuming it has not been changed it will be there, will say something like "wireless key" or "wireless API" attached a photo for reference purposes, Also refer to link for other setup instruction if you need to, Hope you come right.
U do not set up wi fi on your smart tv. Your tv taps into your existing wi fi system and tells you it is there and then you enter the password for entry to your wi fi network and then the smart tv can do its thing.
If reentering the password does not do the trick then the wi fi circuits of your "smart" tv have deserted you. A power failure will sometimes result in this and you have to re enter the password for it to reconnect.
If you have not already: contact the supplier and get a new dongle that is recommended for your application. That should at least eliminate the dongle being defective. If the problem persists you may have a problem with the Equipment not receiving or processing the signal from the Dongle properly. I that case you will have to deal with the company through warranty or find out where there is a repair depot that will service the equipment.
