Loosen coil screws, adjust coil to magneto flywheel magnets with a double sheet of common paper, tighten screws, so that paper will pull out without tearing. That will give you the best chance for a good spark, with all you have done. Pull spark plug out , put top of plug back in spark boot.......crank ovr with rope, and ground spark plug on top of motor(metal), observe the blue spark. If none, check the short wires for any breaks from coil to switch. You can open handle and take out switch, if nothing else works.....then try and start. The wires are just to break the ground, to turn off motor. Can choke motor to stop.
Testimonial: "I gapped the ignition coil with a business card. That was the problem. It started and ran fine. It still has issues with starting and idling. Have adjusted the screws but is working for now. Thanks for your help. Great advice!!!"
Your welcome, glad it was just the alignment of coil and flywheel . On carb, you can adjust the 2 needle valves, tighten up to close, on rich/lean (should be on the side of starter rope pull. Then open it up 1 1/2 turns. Close the air mix (other side) and open about 1/2 turn to start with. Maybe your carb will run better when you run it a good bit, but may have to change idle screw UP so it will remain running. WOuld ONLY use NON ethanol gas and Synthetic 2 cycle oil.
