Random shut downs.

Random shutdowns are normally caused by your computer overheating. The CPU has a protect mechanism that automatically shuts down when it reaches a certain temp so it does not damage the CPU. If you are computer savvy you can download a program called HWinfo or check your BIOS for CPU temperature readings as it runs..otherwise take it to a technician, however, as I always recommend have the technician show you the increased tempature before agreeing to any hardware fixes..if you have any questions let me know. Pls rate this solution.

Can't access desktop, windows won't load so pc won't shut down

Hold th epower button down on your tower for about 5-10 seconds and it should shut off. Then you can turn it back on. If that doesnt shut it down you can always pull the power cord.

Hi to u!

It shouldn't hurt to leave it on all the time. I leave mine on all of the time. Make sure that you have it on a hard surface like a desk. Don't leave it on something soft, like a carpet or couch. That should keep it cool enough.
If you do leave it on all of the time, I'd suggest shutting it down at least once a week. That will help to clear out a lot of software garbage that collects over time.
Also, check that your power supply is on a hard surface and check it from time to time to make sure that it is not hot. Some of the HP power supplies have a tendency to get too hot, if you leave it on all of the time.

E-machine computer will not shut down

your files might have been corrupted i know the end close screen file sometimes and will get corrupted quicker than startup screen
now the question is was this the floor model or a straight out of the box unopened comp cause floor models always needs to be reformated those are the show comps. people play with those all day once you reform. comp. and put in new O.s. system everything should come back to working perfectly and dont forget spyware checkers and virus blockers name branded backed up these will help protect your comp

simple other solution might be you just need to upgrade your system files threw windows update
