The red white and yellow cables are composite connections. The red/green/blue connections are component connections.
The playstation's composite connections consist of two audio connections- red & white, and a composite yellow video connection. The TV's white connection is the audio, and the red/green/blue are component video. You need an adapter that will connect the one yellow(composite video) to the three red/green/blue (component video) connections

Same problem here, there is a high-pitched sound in standby. As soon as the light turns blue and the TV is on it's gone. I actually exchanged this TV three times at Best Buy but all the models made the same buzz in standby. I was told that it's normal and in the store you can't hear it since there is too much humming from other TVs around. The power is transformed down to a minimum, just for the remote controls, internal clock etc. and this causes the buzz, like when you dim your lights at home. I hooked it up to a surge-protector for clean power and just switch it off over night. During the day it's hard to hear anyway. - Again, since this is my third (!) Proscan 40' exchange I can definitely say that this is normal for this model. I was just surprised that nobody mentioned the same problem so far on the Best Buy reviews.

Sounds like your resolution on your computer is set too high for your tv to accept. Try putting your computer resolution down to 1024x768 or lower and see if that works.
