In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory ResetF (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. if this is apart of a smart tv may i recommend to make sure you can tell the difference whether or not you are experiencing a software related issue with the tv or b a hardware related issue with the remote. ( what will need to be done is the tv will have to have the power cord physically removed from the television. wait roughly 2 mins. once this is done plug it back in. the device will boot back up. once the tv is back on pick up the remote and try the process all over again. let me know how you make out.
