If you could provide me the product No.which is at the bottom sticker of the notebook of your Compaq v4000 laptop then I can find the part no. for LCD screen which is less costlier and exchangeable.
When I opened my laptop this morning my computer won't come on. The screen is totally black. I took out the battery and put it back in ---- still nothing. I plugged it in with the power cord --- nothing! What is wrong with my HP Compaq Presario CQ60?
i have the exact same problem. try connecting the laptop to an external VGA screen. if it works, then the problem is most likely a loose cable (connector). It turns out that the connector (which connects the motherboard or gfx card to the LCD screen) on my laptop is torn and cut. see if u have the same problem. this link might help u check out ur problem:
