Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.

Try setting it for internal speakers. Do you have external speakers?

the sound is not supposed to come from the tv it's supposed to come from the blu ray audio system

Put the unit in dvd mode. then press and hold the stop and eject buttons. The display should read "demo off". Then the tray should operate normally.

From page 68 of this manual: "Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility."

The RM-ADP053 comes in the box with the BDV-370 and is preprogrammed with the codes to operate that unit. The manual can be found at Sony at this link.
To reset the remote control back to factory specifications, press the POWER , TV/VIDEO , and VOL- buttons simultaneously.

Having browsed the user manual I wonder if you plugged in the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System while the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv was powered down via the optical cable .
Then powered up the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System first and then powered up the Polaroid FLM-2632 tv
Maybe the Polaroid FLM-2632 TV has to detect that the Sony BDV T57 Home Theatre System is connected and powered up when the Polaroid FLM-2632 powers up. To activate its digital audio out ????
The note part about only being available only under HDTV (cable/air) mode. Might be the cause of your hassle also ?

METHOD B:

Note: Above mentioned function is only available under HDTV (cable/air) mode.

For Panasonic:
Parental Lock Feature

Combo's, Screen will say VCR Lock Activated.
During stop or power off, hold the stop/eject button on the unit for at least seven seconds.

Combo's, Another method
With unit on and no cassette inside, hold the rec/time button on the front of unit for 7 seconds.

CTV's Lock Mode
Only the on/off button will work,the others have no effect. Press the action and power buttons at the same time on the front of the set for 10 seconds or so.

LCD TV's, Lock Mode
If customer forgot Parental Lock Code, unit must be re-initialized.
Press and hold the Volume down button on the front panel, press the OK button on the remote for 5 seconds.

DVD's Lock Mode
Setting Method
The sales demonstration lock function is set by simultaneously pressing the "POWER" button of DVD Player on the remote control unit and the "STOP" button on the main unit. ("LOCKED" is displayed when the lock function is engaged.)
Release Method
The function can be released using the same procedure as for setting. If the remote control unit is not at hand, the function can be released by using the same method as for player initialization (pressing the "PAUSE," "SKIP/SEARCH<<"and "OPEN/CLOSE" buttons simultaneously).

VHS-DVD Recorder (DMR-ES40V), Forgotten Ratings Password
From the Owners manual: Open tray, Keep Pressing Rec and Play/X 1.3 buttons on the remote for 5 or more seconds.
Another servicer found resetting to defaults worked well.
(VCR>DVD Dub) + (Open/Close) + (DVD Rec)
