You need to install the printer driver. You can download the HP printer drivers from their support WEB site. Please click on this link and select your model printer to download :- http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
there is no software / driver for 845c, a basic driver that allows you to print is already included in your computer, just plug in the printer and turn it on and it should work - get detected and you should be able to print.
just make sure you actually select the printer when printing.
Go to www.hp.com > Downloads > Put HP Deskjet 845C in as model > Select Operating System (Windows XP, Vista or 7)> Download driver (select basic or complete) > Disconnect USB connector to printer > Double click on Printer driver to begin installation > Connect USB from Printer when told to do so during the Printer installation.
