Go to service mode and there should be an option to flip the picture, not sure why this should happen when selecting reset as its more common when replacing the main board

If only the picture is out, and audio is normal, the fault is with its back-light inverter board. If both picture and sound is absent, and the standby light is ON, the fault is with its main board. If set is fully dead; even there is no standby light at all; the fault is with its main power regulator [SMPS] board. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Check to make sure the Video connector (YELLOW) is connected to a YELLOW plug on both the TV and the DVD. If it is plugged into a GREEN plug then it will produce the black and white picture and not a color picture.

the fuse to the audio compartment might be blown

Can you tell me how to connect my dvd player to my 42 inch proscan hdtv ? There are no yellow,its blue and there are two rows of the same colors.

Sounds like it is a widescreen TV stuck in standard view mode. Should have a menu option called widescreen or movie format.
Do you see the whole picture squeezed down or is it actually cutting off the sides of it?
