No screen no sound green power light comes on with remote and power button
Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

I had the same problem and my tv was out of warranty. I took it to a local repair shop and they told me didn't work on that brand. They said they charge $300 minimum for labor, plus parts. So probably at least $500 to fix. Since I figured we had nothing to lose my buddy and I took it to our shop at work and decided to take it apart and look for any obvious problems such as blown fuses, burned components, etc. All of the printed circuit boards are connected to what appears to be similar to a motherboard via data ribbons. We disconnected the data ribbon of each PCB to the microprocessor PCB and turned on the TV. Each time it turned back off after about 3 seconds. When we disconnected the Y-Main PCB the TV stayed on and I got the sound back, but no picture. We then disconnected the buffer PCB's from the Y-Main to ensure they were not the problem. Finally, we pulled the fuse on the Y-Main PCB and reconnected the data ribbon and the TV and sound stayed on again. I found a site that sells the Y-Main for $179 and I am deciding whether to try it or not. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.

I had the same problem and Sanyo does not make parts for this model anymore. Luckily I had the extended warrantee so they reimbursed the full purchase price.
Weird that the poster above mine was able to get a part; I was told the part is no longer available.

The TV is on protect mode.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.
If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.
1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

No sound and no video is usually means the main board is bad. Green power indicated power supply might be OK.

Sounds like the power supply is bad.Do you know anything about working on circuit boards ? I bet some of the capacitors need replacing. This is a quick and very cheap fix if you know how to do it.
On the back of the tv is a panel held by two screws.Remove those and you have instant access to the power supply.Look and see if any of the capacitors are bulging or leaking.
