Check to make sure that you removed the shipping tape from the cartridge, number one cause of blank pages out of the box. From there, reinsert the cartridge, sometimes they do not seat properly. Reinstall the old cartridge and confirm that you still get an image to eliminate a possible failure in the printer. If old cartridge printers you likely received a bad cartridge and will need to return it to vendor and get it replaced.

Clean the feed rollers.

Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the device to initialize.
If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the device directly into the wall socket.
Use thepower switch to turn the device on.

Jams in these units are most often caused by dirty rollers.
You'll want to clean all the rollers with a sturdy lint free cloth and bottled water.
Then run the device's built in cleaning procedure.

The device features a special cleaning mode to clean the paper path.
1. On the device control panel, press Menu/Enter.
2. Use the < or the > button to select Service, and then press Menu/Enter.
3. Use the < or the > button to select Cleaning Mode, and then press Menu/Enter.
A page feeds through the device slowly. Discard the page when the process is completed.
4. Load plain letter or A4 paper when you are prompted.
5. Press Menu/Enter again to confirm and begin the cleaning process.
