My john deere 260 lawn tractor will not move when placed in any gear from 1-6 and Rev. Engine starts and blades turn. Any ideas?? Thanks

Michael, if the briggs is overhead valves, it may need valve adjusted so engine will turn easier. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

You have many switches in the safety circuit. turn off the blades, try to start again.

John Deere will be the best place unless you luck out and a John Deere mechanic or someone with a service manual reads this and responds.

the drive and the mower deck use different belts

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the automatic belt tension was blocked with grass so it was not tensioning the belt correctly. It was quite difficult to completely clean it but it has been fine ever since.

Check both belts on deck. Check if the clutch is clicking in. If not it will most likely need a new pto switch.
