Unfortunately, I couldn't find a specific manual for the Dial and Sew 750 sewing machine. However, I can give you some general instructions on how to use a sewing machine that may help you get started:

1. Threading the machine: Follow the threading guide and thread the machine correctly. Make sure that the presser foot is raised when threading the machine so that the thread can be properly tensioned.

Adjust the Stitch Length;

To make longer stitches, set the stitch length to a higher number. On many sewing machines, four is the longest possible stitch length and two is average.

To make shorter stitches, set the stitch length to a lower number. At a zero, the sewing machine may not actually make stitches, since the needle will go up and down in one place.

Cut a small scrap of fabric, preferably the same type you want to sew with.

Sew a few test stitches on the scrap. Examine the stitches to make sure they're the length you want.

Adjust the stitch length again as needed.

I would study my manual if I were you, pages 27 and 35 explain your settings pretty clearly. If, you don't have your manual handy, go to www.brother-usa.com and under support and home sewing and embroidery download a free copy of it. You can also call Brother customer service at 1-877-276-8437 and ask them if your machine still gives you grief.

Make sure the stitch is set to a sewing stitch, (not a buttonhole stitch).
Set the stitch length dial to a longer stitch.
Make sure you have you feed dogs set to the "up" position.

Sounds like it is either out of time or the adjuster spring needs to be replaced.
