What are perfect settings for colour on my Toshiba 22KV500B?

Google SMPTE Bars. SMPTE is the standard for TV's. A perfect picture may not be what you like. Many of today's Flat panels are way too color washed. Perfect pictures don't have such dynamic color. If you were too put your TV to the Standard setting it many be the closest to Perfect you may get.

I have the same problem, and I don't know how to solve it.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers, for spare parts and service, and Installation Instructions as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

It sounds like you have a switch problem at the front panel of the set. If a switch gets stuck internally the micro is trying to process the command and won't respond to any other commands. The only way to find out is to go into the set and desolder all the manual switches and see if the remote will work the set. It has a seperate detector for the remote. Thanks for using fixya. if the tv is digital (high def) it does make sense its just a bulb most likely. if its analog it does not make sense. for a plasma or lcd with comparable picture to rear projection will be 5-6 grand and the colours will be comparable. less money will get you less than perfect colour and black levels on your set. only if your set is digital if not its a very different story if you need more help let me know i can guide into the right decision

sounds like it needs demagnetizing, also make shure you dont have any unshielded speaker close to the set, demagnetizing is performed with a demagnetizing coil, you can purchase one at any tv parts dealer for about 30dollars
