The warning light comes on because the machine "thinks" that something is wrong. Since it stops on and off something is wrong. Why not phone the Whirlpool service in your area and tell him aboout this and ask what you can do?? give it a try Kolbrun

Providing that the tap is turned fully on AND the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, this is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!

hello mam you cant clean the pump but you can clean the filter of the drain line. and if you want to clean it you should use a descaling powder this will be available with the washing machine service centers.
