I cannot play Blu Ray discs on my Acer Aspire X3200 (Vista) PC with my Pioneer BDC-202 blu ray drive (which came as standard).
I have updated to Vista SP2 (after the problem started), downloaded every available device driver & updated to the latest Pioneer firmware version (1.7) for my drive.
I use Acer Arcade Live's PlayMovie program to play the BD's & it has worked quite a few times in the past but has stopped working recently.
I updated to the latest version of the Acer PlayMovie software after noticing that the discs wont play. This did not solve the problem.
The disc loads & shows it's name within the Acer SW & you can hear the disc spinning but it wont actually play (black screen).
I've tried umpteen Blu Rays but none have worked.
I've tried Acer Support but it's usless!
Oh & I have the BD drive set to the correct region for my area (B).
Anyone got any ideas?
If the drive doesn't read any disc's you need to reinstall the drivers and verify you have the latest version. If the drive is ONLY having trouble with Blu-ray then i'm assuming it's the player that you're using; it may not have the right Codac's etc. Also, try multiple Blu-ray movies to verify it isn't just the one movie.
That's because it is DVD player on your Acer PC. Of course you can't play Blu-ray disc on it. In this case, you need to buy a new external Blu-ray driver, or use Leawo Blu-ray Copy to shrink Blu-rays to DVDs.
Leawo Blu-ray Copy is one of the best Blu-ray copy software to copy and back up Blu-ray/DVD/ISO files to hard drive or blank Blu-ray/DVD disc. This Blu-ray Copy software could help preserve your Blu-ray/DVD discs and keep them away from damages. The most importantly, it can remove region code and copy protection from your original disc.
You should download a Blu-ray player program to play the Blu-ray discs.
You also need to download a piece of Blu-ray player program such as Leawo Blu-ray Player which can decode DVDs and Blu-ray easily
