Hi Nikhil Jain Thanks for your reply. Wifi for mobiles are all connected, Tv has only been in the one place, I've been trying to get it to work on and off for the last 18 months. Unsure how to test tv if it can obtain an IP address, Could you help me in in that field. The tv says wifi is available and in the top right corner it shows a wifi Ariel. Your help is much appreciated. GraemeHi Nikhil Jain

It may be that the aerial in the TV isn't as good as your phones receiver. Maybe try a mains internet / power line adapter so that you can use a wired solution.
Just get a WiFi extender...this will definitely increase the signal..the tv adapter is generally built-in, but the software might be upgradeable...cheers
Probably your signal is not strong enough. TV may be too far from WIFI router. Try moving it closer to router. If that improves performance then decide what you need to do next. Perhaps move the router or get a signal booster.
You mention two separate issues, WiFi and smart hub. As you know Samsung built in manual is the worst idea ever. There is no picture of the complete rear panel connection for example.
If the smart hub is the actual WiFi antenna then if your system doesn't recognize Smart Hub then you have a bad smart hub.
to test smart hub plug something into hub ( DVD HDMI, video game) If your remote has smart hub button press and see what appears. Otherwise select source on remote see if your attached item appears. (That would indicate smart hub does talk to TV)!
Since you can access your network when hard wired your network password is stored.
Once you have verified Smart Hub is functional then work on WiFi.
i will say my Samsung is 3 ft from my router and hard wired for better streaming speed.
I use Bluetooth access to share photos from IPads.
I would leave TV hard wired.
Ok,here's the solution,I have my lap top about 100 feet away from my router, have a man cave,I have it plugged in always and when the wind is blowing,my signal will get lost and I get the same reading as you do,but it picks right back up,it's the signal,my vizio, smart tv is connected by wifi and I loose my signal there too,Here's a video to watch,enjoy.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf1UgEJq8NY
On a laptop your wifi on off button should be on the side, it will show a little tv symbol with small arches and on the other side a little tv symbol with no arches. The one with the arches means you can get the signal and you will have to change the switch to that one. If this does not work, it is possible that you computer does not have a built in wireless adapter and you may need to purchase one. If there is a slot on the side of your computer that is PCMCIA slot, you may need to put an adapter in there. You can purchase them on ebay for as little as $10, however in the store you could be looking at $40 to $70. Cheers.
it may be finding it but not showing the passcode screen to enter your wep key. tap the wifi settings and set you network information and the wep network key which is located on your router. If you put any other code in your wifi won;t connect.
