I have not familiar with the printer but I have alternative for your problem. I suggest you install Acrobat reader 9 that if have a friend that you can borrow.
From that program, you can scan a document and save it as pdf file. Just go to the document menu and there is a scan to pdf option there. Choose which one you preferred like print in black and white.
1st - color copy
2nd - black and white copy
3rd (up arrow) - # of copies
4th (4x5in) - prints a 4x5 of what is in the scanner
5th - scan
6th (x) - cancel current action
7th - feed paper
8th - power button

For me, the buttons do not perform a function and all functions of the printer I've done on the computer through printing and through the Dell Imaging Toolbox program.
Ensure that your printer is online and all cables are securely attached.
(i) If your printer is on a network, ensure that your network allows you permission to access the printer.
(ii) If you are printing to paper, ensure that the Quicken PDF Printer is not selected.
(iii) If you have more than one printer:
(iv) Ensure that you have selected the correct printer in Quicken. (Select the QuickenFile menu, select Printer Setup, and select the item you want to print. Be sure the correct printer shown in the Printer field. For example, if you are printing a report, select File > Printer Setup > For Reports/Graphs.)
(v)Try making another printer the default printer. Microsoft Windows Vista:
Click the Microsoft Windows Vista logo (Start button) and select Control Panel.
Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer.
Select the printer and click the Set as default command button. Microsoft Windows XP:
Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Printers and Faxes.
Right-click a printer and select Set as Default Printer.
(vi) Try printing from WordPad or Notepad to be sure Windows is communicating with your printer.
Click the Microsoft Windows Start button, select All Programs or Programs, select Accessories and select WordPad or Notepad. Enter some text.
Select the File menu and select Print.
(vii) If your file does print from WordPad or Notepad, try reinstalling the printer or printer driver.
(viii) If your file does not print from WordPad or Notepad, it probably means that Windows is not communicating with the printer. Check your Windows printer settings.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Good Luck and have a nice day.
I contacted HP and they told me it was a software incompatability issue between Quicken and their printer drivers. They provided me with additional drivers to solve the problem.
I've tried off and on for a year to try to get assistance from Quicken and HP because my Quicken reports would not print. Everything else printed just fine. It was so frustrating because nothing worked. I needed to get reports to my accountant and thought I was just going to have to hand write the reports. In the end, I took a photo of the screen (with the report showing), downloaded the photo to the computer, tweeked it a bit with my photo software, then prrinted it. How goofy is this to get a report from a program that is supposed to make my life easier???!!!
Check that the problem is not caused by mismatched paper size, in that case you may need to correct printer settings and adjust also settings on Quicken.
Quicken 2008 is also known for having several bugs that affect printing, if you are considering an update to 2009, that should fix the problem.
You can also check if a patch to fix the problem is available contacting quicken online, check the links below:

To anyone with a Dell V105 printer and wanting to get it to work on Mac OS X 10.9.1. Dell's V105 printer is a Lexmark X2600 series printer. I suspect it's specifically a Lexmark X2650 Scanner/Printer. Download from Apple's support website the Lexmark printer drivers. Install and select "Lexmark 2600 Series" from the Scanners Printers in system preferences. I have not found a way to scan yet. But this got me printing.
Have you gone into printer properties when printing the item then click advanced check what the settings are on. Your default settings may be to print draft quality which produces faint picture because it uses dramatically less ink. If you need further assistance let me know. Also a brand new printer of higher quality can be purchased for around 30$. So repair is definitely not a viable option if it is not a setting problem. Thank you, lee
