When trying to power on my tv I get no picture on the screen. After using the joystick/toggle switch to manually power on the TV, the standby light blinks and then turns off. If I move the joystick I can hear the TV making beeping noises as if it is turned on, but there are no images or anything on the screen. I have tried replacing the main board and the power supply board and I still am having the issue. Any ideas on what to try next would be appreciated. Thanks!
Although it can be frustrating to have a plasma TV that will not power on, you can get some comfort in knowing that the problem that is keeping the TV from powering on is unlikely to require you to need to do any sort of serious electrical work. In fact, there is a good chance that the TV will not power on because of some simple problem. In these instances, figuring out how to power up your TV is relatively simple.
Check to make sure the power cord is all the way plugged into the wall outlet. Try unplugging and replugging the cord into the outlet.
Check the wall outlet's power supply with an ohmmeter. Plug the ohmmeter sensors directly into the top two openings in the outlet. An ohmmeter that lights up indicates the outlet is connected to an active power supply. If there is no power, open your home's breaker box and check to see whether the switch associated with the outlet into which the TV is plugged is in the "On" position. If the switch is flipped to "Off," slide it to "On."
Press the "Power" button on your television's front or side panel. If the television turns on, this indicates the problem is with the remote control --- not with the television itself.
Open the remote control cover and make sure batteries are inside. Look to see whether the batteries are in the right position, with the "+" and the "-" sides of the battery matching the places indicated on the remote. Replace the batteries in the remote with new batteries.
