You need adjust the sensitivity, or the delay may be too great...or too short to get the pic. Try placing camera in an area of your home where people frequent. use them to set the sensetivity/delay to get the best pictures within 30 feet of camera. Then move the camera outside to where you want the camera set up. Check the camera in 24 hours and see if you are at least getting part of the critters triggering the camera. Decrease delay first to see if you are getting full images. If not increase delay to get full images. You can also move the camera closer to trail or further back to help get pictures as full and accurate as camera is capable of. There is not magic answer. Experience will guide you!

Taking pictures in the morning produce very bright pictures buts normal during the night

My guess s, you did put your camera in Best Shot BS mode, and selected night shot. Try putting your camera back in Automatic mode and only select BS, when you know why you should select a special mode.

Can I take clear good pictures of a full moon on a clear night?

You're going to face two separate problems here.

One, the moon occupies a rather small portion of the night sky. Even fully zoomed in, the moon is going to be not much more than a bright spot in the sky.

Two, the camera is designed to assume that almost every scene is an average brightness. Given how much of the scene is a black sky, the camera will attempt to render the sky as average (what photographers call a "medium gray"). This will result in a picture with a gray sky and a featureless white blob for the moon.

If you think about it, the full moon is nothing more than a really big rock under a midday sun. Thus what you want is the same exposure as when taking a picture on a clear sunny day. Unfortunately the camera is going to be fooled by all that dark sky and try to compensate for it. What you really need is to be able to bypass the camera's light meter and set the proper exposure yourself. The C195, unlike more sophisticated cameras, doesn't allow you to do so. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

It doesn't take all the pictures at night, i get some, maybe 1 or 2 then it skips and might take 1 more. takes great daytime photos. is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Hi mmcgee6,

You need to check the settings in the camera , as to whether it's selected on night mode or not , when you use the camera at night , and particularly if the light is not as bright as day light.

There should not be any problem with the night shoots from the camera if there is no problem in the day , it's just the settings that needs to be changed to night mode.

Also a good idea would be to set the flash settings on Auto instead of Off , or other settings , this will adjust the camera as per the environment in which you are clicking your pictures.

Hope this helps ....:)

I tried to put my pictures onto my computer last night but the computer froze so I gave up but I took pictures this morning, and it was fine. Then the next picture I went to take nothing showed up on the...

Your coin battery that powers the memory system of your camera may be failing. This battery keeps your settings and powers your on board computer. Do not confuse this with your picture battery, as that only powers the lens and picture taking ability. The coin battery holds the program. See page 38 of your manual "Replacing the Date/Time battery."

Wont take pictures

It's saying you have too much light for the setting. This usually happens when you have the still shot setting on night (low light) pictures.

Adjusting to "auto" should fix this.

Blubby video and choppy sound when taking picture in night mode

I also have an SDR-H40 HDD Video Camera and I have read in the instruction book that the footage is meant to be like this in low light situations. The reason for this is because the CCD charge time is slowed down to enhance light. By the way I also get poor quality footage in low light mode.

Kodak md853

hi! my sister-in-law gave me a MD853 camera last week from Canada. I used it over the weekend when we went on a trip and the pictures and videos i took were great. Last night, my daughter took a picture of me and when she took a picture of her brother, there was only white on the screen...like a moving white sheet with colored edges. I thought she destroyed it or something. I tried to use it but now the screen is all black...last night only the video worked but this morning everything is black. The other programs in the camera works so i suspect the problem must be in the lens. I'm in the Philippines and if I send it back to Canada for repairs it would just take a long time and it will be expensive to send it back. What can I do? I really love this camera... help!!!

Preview Picture - Locked Up

Eventually, the camera's battery will die. I suggest removing the battery and then wait for 30 seconds and put it back in. This should solve the problem.
