How to change a belt on model vx810

Appears to be the same bae machine with a slight difference in the needle position selector.

I can't find a free version of the manual for the VX808, but the VX810 is free, maybe that will help you figure it out.

Even though there is a sewing machine shop in our area...
I go to Amazon & eBay for these parts

Simply because the traffic and PARKING are just to much to endure for a weeny teeny little part.

Get the make and model of your machine... and think about ordering a spare light-bulb while you are going through the trouble.

Lay out your old belt ... measure it and describe it
(e.g. round, flat... 6 inch long.. width or diameter etc.).

Find it on-line and look up at least three prices before you buy.

The belt itself is usually available; there are only a few sizes of belts. However, you should have the service manual to do that. I would go to Sewing Parts Online; if they do not have the part and service manual, they can order it for you.

there is also a manual on that site http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-book-brother-vx810-sewing-machine-instruction-manual.aspx but I can't see images to know if it includes an exploded diagram of the tension dial.

If you go to SewingStyle.com they have parts listed with applicable machine model numbers. I think the belt you want is DP6912 which they have listed for 8.99.

I think that your model number is wrong, look at it again and you can order from www.searspartsdirect.com .
