go buy a manual. theres different configurations for that model and spec. also put a "0" in front of the "9". should be 091212. briggs needs 6 digits for look up.

Go online and ask B&S for the PDF download.

Got to the link and find your model then look for the diagrams.

what do you mean by overheating make sure all the fins in engine are clean and free of debris and also the top of flywheel is clear as well it must be to keep it running cool

Besides the service manual you can view parts diagrams at a dealer like www.arcolawn.com. You can purchase the service manual at a dealer and it will show you how to hook it up.
The throttle linkage hooks up to the throttle shaft closest to the engine. the governor spring attaches the governor arm to the throttle linkage.
The choke cable attaches to the shaft farthest from the engine. I hope this helps.
PS your engine has two factory service bulletins on it.

I don't know if your model is the L-Head or the OHV design but these diagrams cover about all of them.

Look at any mower that has a Briggs engine with the rectangular fuel tank like yours. They are all the same linkage.
