Well answer to your question , yes they do have lots of pressure (60 to 110 psi) that's a lot !!

second the device that its job is to regulate the fuel pressure is the fuel pressure regulator , now more modern types use a sensor and a separate pressure relief device but in your case its all in one device , follow your fuel injectors fuel supply rail to there end !! there your gonna see a black device with three lines run to it (one is fuel input, one is fuel return to tank, one is manifold vacuum ) all these hoses need to be ck for holes/cracks/kinks/ b4 you replace the regulator

1999 jeep grand cherokee.uses alot of gas idals bad.new fuel filter.blowing black smoke.hit the gas.and it will get away from you...need help...

Can be a bad O2 sensor. Check with a scanner which shows live data the 1-1 and 2-1 (upstream) sensors. Good sensors show a rapidly fluctuating voltage from 0.2 to 0.8 V. When the sensor has a steady voltage, then its most probably bad. There is no check engine light and no fault codes set?

4 wheel drive quit at some time didn't know it...drives fine only rear wheels pulling..could it be electrical ??

I hava a 1999 Grand cherokee loredo V8 with full time 4wheel drive. when the rear tires slip I am hearing a poping noise in the front end when the 4wheel drive engages. I was told by one person that it could be the chain in the transfer case slipping but I was told by a jeep salesman that this year jeep did not have a chain. Could this be the CV joints in the front axels?

2004 jeep grand cherokee loredo will start and run for 3-5 minutes then stall , and then wont start for about another 5-10 minutes .

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter ( cheap and easy to change) and should be to avoid this as it can lead to a sluggish or failed fuel pump.

Fuel filters are sometimes clear plastic so you can see the grunge through teh little housing while others are metal housings and you change em cause its time if you cannot remember having done so.
