Windows 7 on Toshiba Laptop Sat A665 programs have stopped running where and how do I fix this?

could be the hdd,or the ram.or it could have lost its bootup.you may have to try safe mode if you can.if not you may end up putting a new set of windows on it.

Try restarting in safe mode by hitting the F8 key during the boot.

You now have the option of:

• Disabling startup programs from loading in the first place. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig > Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically.
  
• Use System Restore and rolling back to a earlier date. It can be found in help. F1 key loads help.
  
• Uninstalling problem software. Usually the last thing installed prior to problem.
  

You may have a bug. You may start by going to control panel and see how many programs are trying to start up at the same time. When my laptop does that I normally go to the control panel and stop programs and keep them from turning on at start up. you really dont need all programs to start up at the same time. This may cause freezing and longer times to start at start up.

It could be a defective keyboard. Replace.

Look for a recovery media creator in windows, it's usually under a toshiba folder in the start menu sometimes you have to poke around for it.
You can also do it without the discs because you have a recovery partition on your computer but it is nice to have the discs just in case. When you boot the computer keep hitting the f7 key and this will take you into the recovery manager where you can reinstall windows.
