To place a caller on exclusive hold, press feature then hold. the caller cannot be accessed by any other set then the set that placed him on exclusive hold.

Your spark switch is tripped for some reason. Unplug it for a few days and let it dry out. (sometimes people spill or spray things on them). Otherwise you'd have to call for service.
