Our dishwasher has no salt or rinse aid in, as we are using all in one tabs. There is an all in one button, but the salt light is on and it starts but turns beeps until you turn it off. Any idea?

SOURCE: Bauknecht GSX4756 dishwasher

I have this problem frequetly - it's an easy one to fix! Just press the programme button which changes the programme setting you want (on my built-in GSX4756 it's the last button on the right) and keep it pressed in until the beeping stops. Then start it again (will probably be on the rinse programme if it's like mine).

SOURCE: dwf50 hotpoint aquarius dishwasher

hi, just found this forum after searching the web 4 a solution to my hotpoint DWF50 problem.
I came down this morning to a machine which base tray was full of water and lights 3 ECO & 4 Fast flashing.
Anyway my solution was as i had seen a hotpoint engineer do once before was to press the start/reset button trip the catch, to fool the machine into thinking the door is closed then put in a program, press start, the machine hums slightly but doesnt do anything then after removing the large filter from the tray at the bottom underneath the lower basket insert a length of wire, with a loop on the end (Tip i used a wire coat hanger from the dry cleaners) poke in ythe hole that the dirty water drains from, after a bit of poking about the pump started working and the water drained away. Tip place a hook at the other end of your wire impliment to put your finger in to stop the wire getting caught in the pump mechanisim. After wards u have to hook back the door catch to the normal position, Tip another piece of the coat hanger with a right angled piece at the end will do this. This worked for me, saved me some money esp as D & G insurance ran out 2 weeks ago.....stu

SOURCE: Flashing lights on Hotpoint FDL570 Dishwasher

I had an identical problem with the salt and rinse aid lights on the left and the drying and end lights on the right flashing shortly after switching the dishwasher on. When I pulled it out, as this was the only way to look at the pipework, I noticed a big kink in the water hose. Removing this and obviously sorting out the flow problem has resolved the issue.

This option can be selected by pressing the corresponding button, and remains in memory until the same
button is pressed again. This option modifies the phases of the programme in order to optimize performance
when "3 in 1, 5 in 1, 7 in 1, ......." detergent tablets are used:

- variation of the duration of the programme and the temperatures required to dissolve the detergent tablets.
- reduction of water exchange
- exclusion of introduction of rinse-aid
- exclusion of regeneration

If you use a dishwasher in the traditional manner (detergent, rinse aid, salt) then the Multitab function is disabled. If you use tabs that are already on the market with rinse aid and salt there is a possibility during washing cycle to add a double dose of rinse aid. From rinse aid dispenser and rinse aid from tabs. This will lead to poor cleaning results, glasses will look like they have been washed in milk..To avoid that you must turn on "Multitab" function and thus exclusion of introduction of rinse-aid from rinse aid dispenser. This function also stops the regeneration and will not spend salt because salt is already in a tabs. Also extends the washing time because tablets need more time to dissolve in relation to the traditional powder detergent.

Dishwasher salt beko

Rinse aid and salt are not necessary if you use powder that is similar to the tablets. The lights are warning you that you havent added them, you know that so ignore the lights. If you live in a hard-water (limescale) area salt can be used as well as tablets or powder to make the water kinder to the machine, but most people just use tablets without rinse-aid or salt.

What do these mean on a zanussi dishwasher model DE 6854

The top light is apparently to indicate that the salt (!) has run out.

The bottom light is apparently to indicate that rinse aid has run out.

For the record, that seems to be a Zanussi DE-6854 dishwasher, and I found the manual here: (link)

"Special salt can be added in one of two ways: 1) If you are using dishwasher detergent that already contains salt, the detergent including the salt is placed in the detergent compartment. - In this case the water softener must manually be set to 1 and electronically to 1 to ensure that the special salt is taken from the detergent container only. 2) If you are using dishwasher detergent and salt separately, the special salt is to be put into the salt container. - In this case the water softener must manually be set to 1 or 2 and electronically between 1 and 5 (depending on the water hardness in your area) to ensure that the special salt is taken from the salt container only. Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers. All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in a dishwasher, especially table salt, will damage the water softener. Only fill with salt just before starting one of the washing programmes. This will prevent any grains of salt or salty water, which may have been spilt, remaining on the bottom of the machine for any period of time, which may cause corrosion." (Page 6)

"Only use branded rinse aid for dishwashers. Never fill the rinse aid dispenser with any other substances (e.g. dishwasher cleaning agent, liquid detergent). This would damage the appliance." (Page 7)

The manual also explains how to turn the Rinse Aid light off permanently if you do not wish to use rinse aid.

Good luck!

The salt and rinse aid lights stay on

Top up salt and rinse aid or just ignore the lights if you use 5in1 tabs.

Where do I put salt into a G665 model

Salt and rinse aid are low if the indicator light is on.

Salt is placed in a compartment in the bottom of the inside of the dishwasher. It has a round approx 10cm diameter screw cap.

Rinse aid goes in under a flap in the inside of the door near the powder dispenser

Machine off completely

Hopefully a button is jammed in between positions - the lights are just indicating that you need to add salt to the reservoir and that your rinse aid is getting low.

MY G892SCUPLUS MIELO DISHWASHER LIGHTS AND CYCLES ARE STUCK.

The rinse aid light means you are out of rinse aid. The salt light means you have to add salt to your built in water softener. If the drain/intake light is on, that is when you have a problem. It will flash when there is a problem. You have to count the flashes and that will tell you what the error is.
