.good mobility scooter
humm strange
...fitted a new throttle but still no go

any fuses in the system
might need a volt meter to test all the wires voltages and resistance between battery and throttle

info says comes with two batteries
ouch the w/55AH Batteries are about $250
are both batteries holding full charge

Youre 3 lights flashing unplug charger & turn key of and back on.., Hi the correct pot for you're scooter is a 25kohm resistance =25,000 ohm's..in regards to brake assembly try ringing monster scooter parts 800-798-0325 to c if u have the correct brake assembly cheers i do u know the make & model of scooter :: resistance on the potentiometer sounds a bit wrong most range between 25 K ohm to ,100 K ohm resistance. A 100 K ohm = 100-000 ohm's..a pride wrangler uses a 250 K ohm pot . Cheers

SHELBY ANTRIM'S MERITS MOBILITY SCOOTER HAS AN ELECTRIC SHORT SOMEWHERE BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS THE LIGHTS THE TURN SIGNALS AND THE HORN AND IT HAS NEW BATTERIES

turn the speed up some, unplug Charger, put brake lever in drive mode - hard to push, restart with the key. make sure no damage has happened to the wiring harness that connects to the back. Circuit break may need to be pushed in. this is a start. Next thing would be the Throttle and speed pot.

My electric scooter hesitates, then goes, hesitates, then goes without letting up on the throttle

Going and Slowing is usually a problem with the throttle pot. They are often easy to fix yourself with a bit of WD40 once you have found out where the throttle pot is on your machine. Sometimes they have to be replaced, but fortunately the part is quite cheap. You didn't say what brand your scooter is, but Pride scooters are known for throttle pot problems.

Why won't my pride legend start?

The legend has a Curtis controller. The flash codes you provided points the problem to a faulty throttle pot. If a new throttle does not fix the issue, then your problem is the controller itself.

Rascal scooter

Could be the Throttle Pot or Speed Pot. The levers will change the resistance of the throttle pot. The speed pot feeds the throttle pot.
Move the speed pot while pushing the lever forward. If it works could be the speed pot has a dead spot on it. Also check wires loose and a mechanical issue with the throttle pot and the springs.

I HAVE A CELEBRITY DX SCOOTER, IT IS 4 YEARS OLD. I HAVE HAD NEW BATTERIES FITTED, BUT THIS LAST 3 MONTHS THE SCOOTER RUNS FROM NORMAL SPEED TO SLOW AND SLUGGISH THEN BACK TO NORMAL EVERY FEW MINUTES.CAN...

Hi John.
The problem could be a worn throttle pot ( wig wag ). Next time you are driving the scooter, try moving the ends of the speed lever slowly up and down, instead of in or out as you normally use it. If the throttle pot is worn, moving the lever this way will make the machine speed up or slow down.
Another cause might be a faulty battery lead connector or a faulty motor connector.
Good luck. Neil.

Revo 3 wheel: will not hold constant speed; batteries recently replaced but did not fix problem

hi, there could be a number of issues,

First check the speed pot, try moving the throttle lever in the upwards or downwards direction while going forward, if the scooter starts to pick up again then the speed pot is worn and needs replacing.

if the motor has brushes check them, make sure they can move freely, some times they stick and cause intermittant speed problems, check the battery conections and make sure they are tight.

If this helps please vote.

Hi it keeps stopping, leave it 5 mins and it will go again for a short while.

sounds like the brushes could be worn out,

Connection form the batteries to the motor controller then check the M+ M- leads from the controller to the motor

Could be the controller breaking down

Batteries are okay ? or simply the speed pot is worn,

when it stops , move the throttle lever upwards, does it start to go again, if so a new speed pot is required.

Gewiz.

I have a pride victory xl8. Problem - was running

All scooters have a protection system built in to prevent burning up the motor, and the user, should the scooter overheat. It sounds like yours overheated. If the temp. outside was warm to hot, and your weight is near the weight limit for the scooter, and you are taxing the motors over a hill, or unstable terrain, then the scooter goes into "limp home mode", or just enough to get you a bit aways, and then it will turn off. After a few minutes to cool off, it will go again, but shut down fairly quickly because it takes a spell to let the whole transaxle-motor assembly to get cool.

Check your weight, and anything else you may be carrying with you on the scooter. Check the terrain, and incline you are going against. Throttle down for all these occassions. If you overloaded the system at some point, then you may have overheated the brushes. Remove them (2) with a standard screwdriver and see if the copper coil is still flexible and springy. If not, replace it/them.

The damage may already be done, so it may need a new motor/transaxle assembly. An expensive proposition I'm afraid.
