Hi Howard

As far as I know you can only use your memory stick to view items such as videos, pictures, and music. If you want to record you will need to invest in a hard drive.

Sony dcr-hc62 won't record

Memory stick could be fubar. I have a bad sd card that I can record to and will work. Then a few days later the data is corrupted, and I have to reinstall it / same pattern. Try another stick to verify that it is the stick and not the camera electronics.

Where can I find a memory card with more megabites of memory?

The sony cyber-Shot Dsc F828 does not work well with memory stick that are more than 2gb. I have used 4gb memory stick, but realised that it failed to record most of my photos. Other are recorded but hard to extract. I would recomed 1gb stick. Keep more than one

I need to know how to use the memory stick feature on a Sony digital recorder.

Here is the URL for the manual for your recorder =>

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=ICDMX20&LOC=3

Essentially you just plug in the Memory Stick, wait for the display to stop showing "ACCESS". Make sure you do not insert the stick when you are either recording or playing a message. There is a chart that shows you how many messages you can record using the different speeds.

DV Cassettes vs Memory Stick

Well, I went to The Sony site and what I found out was that currently this camera is only ceritfied for a 512mb stick. It does say what the qualiy is the memory stick is E-mail mode with a resultion of 160x112 pixels. The TAPE mode is DV quality or 740X480 pixels. Try recording both ways and see what looks better when you play it back on you TV or PC then decide.

Which memory stick ?

Several of the Sony cameras require a high speed memory stick for 640 x 480 30fps movies. Here is a clipping from the Sony P150 specifications: "MPEG VX Fine with Audio (640 x 480 at 30fps), (MPEG VX Fine requires Memory Stick PRO media)"
