You can try downloading a region free player on your pc and then you can play any DVD discs of any regions you want. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a region free Blu-ray player and it is a free software tool.

You need to input a sequence of remote control presses to access a service menu to change the region code.......the sequence will be determined by the make and model of the player!

Changing dvd region codes

You can't change the DVD coding. That part is how the DVD is recorded. However, your Mac will play DVDs from another region. It just typically defaults to one region. I have deleted the DVD player software (and preferences files) before and reloaded it to play DVDs from another region. If you plan to regularly play DVDs from multiple regions, you might want to look for special DVD software that will read DVDs from multiple regions.

Can't play uk DVD in Australia

To changethe Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware -Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVDdrive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have beenmade.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the4th change. Region 4 = Australia
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmwareto make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrongfirmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece ofsoftware (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region andPasskey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There areseveral available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

Message "wrong Region" appears in my Sony DVD -

DVD region is an anti-piracy method to block DVDs from other countrys to be played on a region where that DVD isn't available for selling. You still can watch that DVD by changing the DVD Player region code from options but be aware that you have a limited number of changes, after changes reach 0 you cannot change DVD region code anymore and your DVD player will be stucked to a certain region that you selected.

My wife bought a TV series on DVD while she was in the Middle East and now that she brought them back to Canada we are not able to play them. How do we deal with this?

Region-free DVD players are sold through various venues.Try playing it in a computer DVD player/burner. Some burners are region-free. Some software can copy your purchased disks, removing the region code in the process.

Player won't play legally imported DVD's

Hi, guessing you are from the UK? Different countries operate different regions for dvd's for instance the UK dvd players are set up to play region 2 discs, and US dvd players are set up to play region 1 discs.
This is because dvd release dates are different around the world and this stops people buying a dvd in the US and bringing it back to the UK and selling it before its official UK release date for example.
Your choices are either to play the dvds on a PC where often the dvd software will allow you to change region a number of times (be careful though as some players will let you change region say 5 times and then be locked to that region)
Or to get hold of or buy a multi region dvd player which plkays dvd'd regardless of their original region
Hope that makes sense, good luck

Wrong Regional Disc.

DVDs are ecoded with region codes to indicate what area of the world they are made for. These codes may be 1,2,3, etc depending on which region they are made for.
DVD player read these codes and if the disc region code does not match the region the device is made for, the player will not play the disc.
Region 1 is for USA so most DVDp players made for use in USA require region 1 discs.
Some DVD players called multi region DVD players can be set to play different region DVDs but they are typically more expr=ensive then one region players and the code must be changed each time a different region disc is played.

1. Make sure there is no disc in the player.
2. Turn power off and on again.
3. Open the tray.
4. On the remote, hit 9879 and then 0. This changes unit to Region 0, meaning it'll play all regions.
5. Hit OK on the remote.
