The 2 slow one long blink code for Sharp/Element TV's is backlight inverter over current/voltage shut down and not a board issue. Replace the backlights and the set should work like new
It is impossible to predict whether the kit will help or not.
My advice for such a young tv is to take it to a local engineer for a proper diagnosis and a repair the engineer will have to take responsibility for doing right.
After only 1.5 years most of the components you are planning to replace will be good quality and far from worn out.
I suggest if you want to practice and are willing to risk some of your cash, experiment on a tv that has little or no value.
Hi there!
Did you replace the backlight?
Not sure what comes in the kit but it not EVERYTHING you need to rebuild the tv just a common repair kit that should fix almost any issue except--??--(Whatever is not included in the kit but the tv uses)--
More information please... Does it power on? Do you get sound?
Shine a flashlight into the set to see if you can see any image on the dark screen
Did you plug in all the connections?
did the screen itself get surged or just some of the components.
Good Luck

Hi,
First of all replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board. Some times bad electrolytic capacitors will lead to voltage drop and can cause this type of problems . when you buy the electrolytic capacitor try to buy one which has a high temperature spec just like 105 degree not ordinary 85 degree. It wouldn't cost a lot. Try to replace it before going to buy costly board. and one more thing whenever you post your question for a solution try to add the brand and model number of you are tv with your description.
I would try to look on the power supply first for popped capacitors that supply the 24v rail for the backlight inverter.
Having sound is a positive when it comes to repair. This means that only your screen is not lighting.
If you repair the 24v line and check the 5v feed also going to the BN_on (on) the backlight inverter and you still have no picture...you will need a new inverter.
This could also be the CCFL bulbs that are aging and need replacement. Those are around $20 each for a bulb
Inverter Board going bad or loose plug, then the backlight board will fail within 3-4 weeks later. Good thing you saved a few hundred on the x-warranty, BB won't do a damned thing for you regardless; it's discontinued & they lie about their 'replacement vouchers'.
A 12" bi-metal blade is recommended for your reciprocating saw so that you can cut this thing into small enough pieces for your trash collection.
There are no tubes; generally the pop happens because of high voltage. It is being shorted out and the pop is either the flyback transformer or the horizontal transistor oscillator. these two are reponsible for creating the high voltage cycle for your television; when either of them or their circuitry is shorted out you hear that "pop" which is the emergency cut off circuitry coming into play to protect the rest of the television.
Is it the LCD back light? If so, it probably burned out. Did the phone get wet recently? That is usally the main cause.
You can get a replacement screen on ebay for about 40-50 dollars. Look for ones that come with the instructions and screwdriver. You will need a T6 Torx Driver.
