I am trying to hook up my Dell inspiron 1520 to my viewsonic n2750w tv. Is there an easy way to do this?

Yes there is... You are going to need a VGA cable and an 1/8 audio cable (for sound)

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1520/en/om_en/pdf/UX8623D.pdf - On page 29 it shows a picture of the right side of your computer. You will hook the VGA cable to the VGA port (Number 8 on the diagram).
The on your tv you will hook it up to the vga port as well. Page 7 of the following document shows a pictures of the back of your tv. You will hook it up to "L" on the diagram. Be careful to not bend the pins in the connector. http://www.viewsonic.com.au/support/manuals/files/LCd%20TV/N2750w%20User%20Guide%20English.pdf
Switch your tv over to the PC input by clicking the "Input" button. Then make sure your PC is sending a signal, you might have to hit the function key to switch the view.

I have a samsung ue40c8000 tv,i would like to connect a pc to it.In manual the picture shows a pin and screw socket, but on tv there's just a slot.Do i need an adptor, like the scart one provided or...

it really depends on the connections you have on you pc and on your tv some pcs have a s video hook up or usb port that can be hooked up to the tv but if the only hook up you have is the cord you use to hook your pc up to the computer monitor chances are you will have to have an adaptor. We run ours thru our playstation 3 because there are more ways to hook things up. You could hook it up to a playstaion with just the cord you already have and run it to the tv I believe that xboxs also have the same attachment. Hopefully this helped somewhat. Its hard to answer because there are several different combinations of attachments and hookups depending on name brands ETC.

No picture or sound on ordinary TV after hooking up with HD TV

You system is still out-putting through the HDMI cable. Press & hold the "on" button after the system is already on, it should go back to regular factory settings & show up on your screen.

Toshiba CF36G40 36" TV (picture snowy)

you have a bad tuner you can replace it or use vcr if you still have one around. hook it up with av cable like your ps2 and hook your cable to it and use it to change channels. If you want to replace the tuner it will require soldering and you will have to order it somewhere. i would try partsore.com. The tuner is the metal can the cable goes into inside the tv.
