SOURCE: What channel should the tv be on to be hooked up

There is usually a switch on the device if it is connected through coax cable that changes it between 3 and 4 but if you are using AV cables or a HDMI cable you just need to change the source on your television.

How do I hook up a Yamaha RX-V377 receiver to a Samsung HW-H450 soundbar?

Not sure why you would want to set things up this way, but you have to set the audio output in the receiver hdmi setup menu to tv. This will allow the receiver to pass audio info out of the hdmi jack. By default, this is turned off.

Zenith PV4663RK Rear Projection TV - Manufactured - Mar. 1995

Hi,

Are you connected to cable TV using a digital receiver? If so, your TV can only get the signal for one channel - the one you're tuned into on your receiver. A workaround is to connect the coax cable TV cable directly to your TV, as well as connecting your receiver to your TV. This will allow you to be able to change the channel on your receiver and be able to change the channel on your TV to one of the analog channels you can tune into by connecting the coax cable directly to the TV.

How channel 6.1

If your set up on cable, you may need to disconnect your converter.
Hook up direct to cable line. 6.1 would be an anlog channel and you may not be able to receive it with the box connected.

Then go into your menu and run a channel search. Allow the search to complete and review your channels.

We just dvrs hooked up a few weeks ago.when I am recording somthing down and my daughter goes upstairs to watch her tv and tries to change her channel to watch somthing a message comes up on the tv that...

Hi, poog_23350, I caught your post! How a Duo DVR receiver works is that the TV you have it set to record on will not allow you to change the channel while the recording is in progress. The other TV, that isn't recording anything, can be used freely to flip through channels.

In this case, it's TV2, the one upstairs in your daughter's room, that's currently set to record on while the downstairs TV is free to use. This can be adjusted by pulling up the Main Menu with the Menu button on the remote, selecting option 8, then option 5, and changing the TV1/TV2 setting there on the Record Plus screen.

If you'd like a receiver capable of allowing channel changing while recording a program, our VIP 612 receiver is a Solo receiver that acts like a Duo. What this means is that it has one TV output and two tuners. Along with being able to change channels while a recording is in progress with this type of receiver, you can also record two programs on two different channels simultaneously.

Hope that helps!

My tv will scan and receive channels on a antenna but will not pick up channels on a cable scan with a good cable and a proven good cable signal

if you are not using a cable box and trying to connect cable directly to tv you will get very few channels since they are all digital now and most are scrambled

you will need to hook that cable to the input labled 'QAM' and program tv for digital channels

if you are coming out of a 'cable box' you just need to hook up video cables to an input on tv and change tv to that input - no scanning necessary

hope this helps - if not write back with more details and i will try to help more

good luck!

How can you manually change the channel on the tv so i can hook it up to a satalite dish that calls for it to be on channel 3 or 4...it is on channel 2 and will not allow me to change it up or down

when u connect a satellite disk to your tv set, you bypass the tv channels, you can control on satellite receiver, not the tv. you might have a different cable to connect satellite, as scart or rca cables, when you power on the receiver, the tv switch to aux(AV1) automatic.

Hitatchi 42HDF52 only receives channel 5 and 6 on analog RF input

If you have tried autoprogramming and have found nothing it may be a bad tuner. Is your VCR is hooked up via coax or into a video input? If it is hooked up via video and is working but the coax connection direct isnt it will be a bad TV tuner. Easiest cheapest fix is to use you VCR to change channels or get a Digital Cable Terminal from you cable provider and hook it into video or compnent.
