How do I tell what model year my 85 Evenrude starflite motor is if I cant find a compliance plate ???

go google and type in-- evinrude outboard 1985 ( you have to put the hp in ) and there are sites that will help the model of the engine
take what ever information you have on the engine ( year , make , hp sales name etc) to an evinrude service center and have it identified that way

Starter motor argocat

Hey,
Can anyone help me ? I have just got an very old argocat, I think its about 1971 to 1975, it's all looks in really good condition , but the only thing is the last people but the wrong starter on it, so I'm now after a starter motor for it, ( new or second hand I dont mind as long as it works. The engine is red and a Kohler 18, magnum. I've been told that that's quite a good engine. I've also been told the starter should be silver in colour. Many thanks Keith.

Evenrude point gap

I will try to help. You should be able to rephrase your request on the Browser and look for Specs and your motor info. Create different phrases until you get the answers you want.

I have a Johnson 15HP and it may even have electronic sensors for points. I remember a 1950 Mercury 40HP which was around 18-20 thousandths. In a jam a matchbook cover would be a close gap. Seem to remember gaps were tighter with Magneto power because spark was weak.

You can try to relist on this site under Boats catagory. I hope my solution helps.
