The start relay, start capacitor and the overload located near and on the side of the compressor are the most likely cause. Let me know if you still need help, Sea Breeze

Freezer makes really loud noise

You need someone to check the fans and where the noise is coming from before the repair cost you a lot of money because of damage it can cause. The fan may be hitting ice in the freezer or out of balance because it is worn out. No one can hear what you hear and someone will need to be there to check these things out, Sea Breeze

It makes a very loud noise most of the time

First determine if the noise is from inside or outside of the freezer. If it is louder inside, and you have a frost free freezer, it is usally your evaporator fan motor. If the noise is behind and underneath you unit, then you need to pull the backing plate off, if it has one and determine if the noise is coming from the condensor fan motor, ( if it has one), or from the compressor itself. It usually is compressor and is definitely not worth repairing unless it is under a 5 year sealed system warrantee. Good Luck

Brand new unit, compressor noise.

Since I could get no one to tell me about new freezer compressor making buzzing noise while on, I had the store come a pick it up and give me my money back.

Maytag model MQU1556AEW, frost-free freezer forms ice in bottom.

I'm not sure if this will help but the freezer that is located on the bottom of my refrigerator started forming ice on the back part where the cold air was supposed to be coming out. I kept hearing a hissing sound like water dripping on a hot surface. I called the repair man in and he had to replace the defrost timer. Once he did that it worked like a charm.

I am not an expert by any means although removing ice from a frost-free freezer is a pain and this took care of the problem for me. Good luck!

Liebherr CNES 666 freezer - loud fan (?) noise

AbiH, the likelihood of frost inside the fan housing is high. You should manually defrost the unit. Unplug and use a hair dryer to melt as much water as possible. Be aware that hair dryers and water do not mix well! If it happens again, you may have low gas and require a service person.
