What kind of phone? If the battery can be removed try that. Is it new or was bought used? Almost sounds like a bad touch screen or corrupted operating system.
if sliding your finger across the "slide to unlock" bar won't unlock your iPhone it's possible that your touch screen is (partially) broken.
Try a reboot first: Hold the Power-Button until the "Power off" slider appears. Hopefully you can slide that. If not hold Power and Home-Button for approx. 10 seconds until the phone is off.
If after starting your phone again you can't "slide to unlock" you should see to get a screen replacement.
Hi, The touch pad on your screen is weak and does not function properly again, that is why you can unlock from the sceen. Needs to be replaced, it happens most times when a phone drop the flow or hits somewhere.
The only solution is to replace it with a new one.Thank you.
You can also unlock it on the side by sliding little slide know down. I have LG Vojager and this always works for me. If the phone opens to the left it will be on left side towards top of the phone. It is the top most button. Hope this helps.
THIS WORKED FOR US: Hold down the power button until you see the "CANCEL" icon; tap around the screen until the "CANCEL" button turns blue - this will take you back to the slide feature. MAKE NOTE OF WHERE THIS SPOT IS ON THE SCREEN. Repeat the "cancel-screentap" process to find a 2nd spot in another area of the screen. While on the "slide" screen, draw a line between the 2 spots; when you return again to the "slide" screen, the "slide" should work. ONCE YOU HAVE OPENED THE PHONE do 2 things:
RECALIBRATE the screen
LENGTHEN the screen saver time-out to something other than the shortest time available.
Hope this works for you - GOOD LUCK! PS - dunderground posted the following solution in Apr 2009: "The fastest way is to be on the slide-lock screen & hold the side volume button in the Up position until "Press volume down key to check" comes up onscreen. This may or may not work on all firmware versions on the current i9, but works on most. Make sure to hold the button firmly in the Up position. You will first see the normal volume speaker icon show onscreen and the volume rise, but just keep holding it Up, and eventually you should see the pop-up box noted earlier. The moment you see that pop up onscreen, immediately press the side volume button in the down position. A white calibration screen should now show & you can calibrate the touch screen using the stylus."
