Do you know how to switch on the mailbox for a kx-dt321? We were using it and it now has stopped working
We had been using the mailbox on one of our phones. For some reason it has stopped working and we can't get it switched back on. The phone would have rang a few times and then if no one answered it would have went to answer machine. We have no maintenance contract so trying to get this sorted without having to pay a call out fee. Thanks

You need to set a specific password. Probably in RESET password, it's reset to a default value, so if you don't know what the default is, then you can't use it. We usually use x(plus your extension), where x is like a digit 3 or 4, but I didn't install yours :-)
You're subscribed to a voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when people call while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
Panasonic has 2 voice mail systems that operate on the TDA/TDE/NCP system. By default, the voice mail extension is 500. If you dial it, the system will answer and you can follow the prompts to record and change the greeting.
If your voice mail is embedded, then you have some oher codes like *382 to play it back and *381 to record a greeting.
the general mailbox can be any mailbox from 100-998... or if you have 4 digit extension numbers, 1000-9998...or it can be one of a couple hundred other greetings if you are talking about custom service menus instead of a mailbox (all this is best determined by your local panasonic dealer/serviceman)
once you know which mailbox is your general mailbox: 1) call the voicemail 2) press "#6*" + the mailbox number 3) enter password then "#" 4) press options "3" then "1" then "1" 5) record your greeting then press "1" to stop the recording then "2" to save it 6) hang up
