Have the voltage regulator system checked
in the regulator the voltage controls the amperage allowed and it that unit is not working properly then there will be no current out put
that regulator could be part of the control board for the main ac out put and may have developed a fault in the section for 12 volts on the board
there is a limit on the charge rate for the battery and if it is exceed it may have damaged that circuit or possible blown a fuse in the amperage circuit

    current(amps) is controlled by the voltage allowed through the field windings so it seems strange that the windings are connected directly to the dc outlet through the rectifier diodes with out some for of current control or voltage control
    May be if you talk with a gen set repair shop and get some idea of what is possibly wrong so that no current is flowing ( possible burnt out circuit breaker producing too much resistance
    I as yet not been able to source a schematic diagram but I have found that the set is a GEN 154 unit

Why wont a coleman model 58022 solar panel power a 12 volt test light

The panel is rated 6 watts at 12 volts 12 / 6 = 0.5 Amps

So in full sun the panel "should" produce 1/2 Amp at 12 Volts.

Could be lost exciter current. This is how to restore it - Connect 16 or 18 gauge wires to a 12 volt battery. With generator running, insert bare ends of wires into AC outlet - one to Hot, the other to Neutral. Insert and remove quickly. There should be a flash and power will be restored. If not, repeat until you get that flash and output current restored. Using light gauge wires is so that if you are too slow to remove them once AC is restored. they will burn out before the battery suffers from the AC incoming. Be quick and be careful.

You may be asking too much of the unit; the 5800 watts a which it is spec'd, may be a 'peak' power rating which may be 15-20% higher than its continuous rating. 30 Amps at 220 volts implies 6600 watts which is higher than even the peak power rating. I would expect the unit to produce ~4800 watts continuous or around 22 Amps.
Decided to check my statements and found this, which I quote:

To find out which is bad, you have to check the maximum output of the generator. To do this, you'll need a good voltmeter and a jumper wire. First, remove both "A" and "F" terminal wires. One of the wires is a hot wire so don't let it short to the frame. Then set your meter's function switch to DC VOLTS with a range of 50 volts or greater. Connect the positive meter lead to the "A" terminal and the negative meter lead to an engine ground. Start the engine and run it at about 2000 RPM. MOMENTARILY connect a jumper lead from the engine ground to the "F" terminal. Your volt meter should read 25 to 30 volts. If not, polarize the generator but MOMENTARILY shorting the battery positive post with the "A" terminal and recheck the maximum output test. If you do not have at least 25 volts out of the generator, you need to service the generator. If you do have 25 or more volts from the generator, your regulator is probably bad.

Not charging

To test the chargeing system on your bike. First, text the battery. Unless it is "brand new" there is always the posibility that your battery is the problem. This is especially true on an Ironhead Sporty due to the vibration. Take it to an automotive parts store and ask them to load test it.

The first thing we want to do is to "polarize" the generator. Using a jumper wire, MOMENTARILY touch the wire from the "A" terminal to the positive terminal of the battery. Just make it spark, that's all.

Now, with the battery FULLY CHARGED, connect a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) to the battery. Red meter lead to the positive and black meter lead to the negative. Put the meter's function switch in DC VOLTS, 20 VOLTS or greater scale. Start the engine bring it to a high idle. The meter should read 14.5 to 15.0 volts. If not, test the generator.

First, remove all the wires from both the "A" and the "F" terminals. put your meter's function switch to DC VOLTS, 50 VOLTS or greater. Connect the red meter lead to the "A" terminal and the black meter lead to a good ground. Start the engine and bring the revs up to about 2000 rpm. MOMENTARILY, connect a jumper lead form ground to the "F" terminal of the generator. Your volt meter should read 25-30 volts.

If your generator output is good, you need to replace your regulator. If the output of the generator is zero or low, you need to service the generator. Check the brushes to make sure they're not worn and you may need to recondition the communtator surfaces.

My Generator is putting out voltage on both the neutral side and positive side of 110 Volt recepticles. When hooking a meter to both sides (Neutral & Positive) it is showing 184 volts! It burnt up a...

Check the voltage with a meter in all the recepticles with your meter leads in the left and right slots on the plugs. Is that 184 volts AC there? If so, your gen has big problems with the voltage regulator. Let me know what you read. You can check the right slot of each plug to the round ground hole on the plug too, should be 120 volts there.

Gererator wont put out any volts

Do a ohm test on armature slip rings with brushes removed.You should have continuity between rings but not between either ring and shaft.
