hi, i had this problem also. u have to plug in the usb receiver (looks like a usb storage that you would use for pc) into the front of pc. make sure you have batteries in controller turn it on and press home. red light will flash on usb receiver until controller is paired with it. hope this helps

The controller comes with a little USB dongle that needs to be plugged into the PS3 controller port before it will sync with the PS3.

Hi,
You need to connect the controllers to the PS3 via he USB cable, into the front of the console. When the lights on the controllers flash, press the round `P` button between `Start` and `Select`.
Done!

You can now disconnect them, unless you're charging them up also of course.
