Animal Pro DC 54. Can I rinse the filter?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

The Dyson Cinetic DC54 has no filters to wash, replace or maintain. It's not necessary to maintain the cyclone pack either - it's very important not to wash or submerge the cyclone pack as this can cause damage to your machine that wouldn't be covered under the Dyson guarantee.

It's normal for harmless static to cause fine dust particles to cling to parts of the clear bin and cyclone pack after use. This won't affect performance as airflow doesn't need to pass through this dust, as it would with a traditional bagged or filter-based vacuum. The oscillating Cinetic tips ensure dust and allergens are separated from the airflow and thrown into the clear bin.

When you empty your machine, tapping the cyclone pack firmly will help dislodge any clinging dust particles. Any clinging fluff or debris can be removed from the stainless steel mesh shroud using a soft brush or a dry cloth:

dyson-animal-pro-dc-54-rinse-out-filter-kfbnp2bw3njuiocelunhji5a-2-0.jpg Please do not clean the cyclone pack in any other way as you could risk causing damage.

I hope this information helps, but if you'd like any additional guidance you're welcome to get in touch with our experts directly. You can reach the Dyson Australia team by calling 1800 239 766.

The shroud on my dc59 is full of dust is there any way of cleaning it

Hi Marian, it's Jack at Dyson.

It's normal for harmless static to cause fine dust particles to cling to parts of the cyclone pack after use. This won't affect performance as the airflow doesn't need to pass through this dust.

It's not possible to remove the mesh shroud, but you can clear any fluff or clinging debris from the shroud after removing the clear bin. In order to do this, press the red bin base release catch once to open the bin base. Then with the base still open, press the same red release catch firmly a second time to disengage the bin.

You can then use a dry cloth or soft brush to remove any debris from the fine mesh shroud. Please don't attempt to wash or submerge either the clear bin or the cyclone pack, as this could cause damage not covered under your Dyson warranty.

I hope this information is useful, but you're welcome to get in touch with our experts if you'd like further guidance. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How to clean cyclone part of vac

Hi there Jon, it\'s Jack at Dyson.

It\'s normal for harmless static to cause fine dust particles to cling to parts of the clear bin and cyclone. This dust will not affect performance as airflow doesn\'t need to pass through this dust. Aside from washing both filters at least once a month, using cold water without detergent, the cyclone pack itself does not need maintenance.

You should find that gently tapping the cyclone pack as you empty the machine should help dislodge clinging dust particles. You can also remove any fluff or debris from the mesh shroud using a soft brush or a dry cloth. However, the cyclone pack should never be washed or submerged in water - this could cause damage to your machine not covered under warranty.

I hope this information is useful, but if you\'d like further guidance on maintaining your machine you\'re welcome to contact our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Why does my dyson dc25 clog up at the top filter

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC25 uses patented Dyson Root Cyclone technology to keep dust and dirt away from the filter. The outer cyclone removes dust and bulkier debris from the airstream, and the perforated shroud ensures this stays in the clear bin. 5 smaller cyclones then capture even microscopic dust particles and allergens. As long as you empty the clear bin when debris reaches the Max line, we wouldn't expect significant quantities of debris to reach the pre-filter in normal use.

We recommend washing both filters at least once every three months using cold water without detergent, as shown in the video below. Allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them.

If you find that you regularly have to wash your filters more often than this, we'd appreciate the opportunity to help you check everything is correct with your vacuum. If this is the case, please call us when you have your machine to hand - you can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How do I dissasemble Dyson DC41 cyclone tubes?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

We would strongly advise against attempting to dismantle DC41's cyclone pack. This could cause damage, and can void your machine's free Dyson warranty. The cyclone pack is engineered to work effectively without maintenance, although you can remove the clear bin to remove any debris from the mesh shroud if needed.

Please note it's normal for harmless static generated in use to cause fine dust particles to cling to the cyclone pack, but this shouldn't affect performance. You can dislodge most loose particles by gently tapping the cyclone pack when you empty your machine after use.

DC41 has two washable filters, engineered to last the lifetime of the vacuum in normal use. The filters should be washed with cold water without detergent at least once a month, as shown in the video below. Allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them.

If you're concerned about any aspect of your vacuum I would encourage you to contact us directly so we can provide further assistance. If a repair or replacement part is needed, we can confirm if this is covered under warranty. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How do I clean behind the fine net on the cyclone unit

Hi,

CLEANING BEHIND THE CYCLONE MESH
1. Detach the Cyclone and bin from the main body as you would when emptying.
2. Standing over a bin. empty the contents of the cyclone by pulling the bin flap release button upwards.
3. Whilst the flap is still down detach the bin from the cyclone by pushing up the button on the middle of the cyclone.
4. Sit the bin to the side as you dont need to use it.
5. Get a pair of pliers
6. Use the pliers to pull the fins from the bottom of the cyclone. 1 by one you will hear them click out of position. When you pull the 4th and final fin the baffle will detach and you will then be able to clean the baffle and also the cyclone.

How do you clean the Dyson dco7 cyclone top

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

We would not recommend that you take the cyclone top apart. This part is designed to be a sealed unit and taking it apart may affect ther performance of your machine ongoing.

If you are concerned with the performance of your machine, please follow the blockage procedure and filter washing instructions on our website in the support section at www.dyson.com or check your user guide.

If you do want to clear dust and debris from the cyclone, we recommend that you simply hold the cyclone top over a bin and bang the sides gently to remove any dust from the inside.

Kind regards
Darran
