Newer LG front load gas clothes dryer. power hooked up dryer controls light and operate. gas hooked up and flowing. i hear the igniter light but gas doesnt stay lit. no heat. do i need a special gas dryer...

if you hear the flame light but it doesn't stay on for a long time most likely you have lint blocked up in the dryer or in the vent linepull out the lint screen filter and look down into the duct that the filter slides into,if that's blocked you can try to stick a brush down in there and pull out as much lint as you can and then get a shop vac and set it up to blow and try to blow the rest of the lint out,if this doesn't work you have to pull the front of the dryer off and clean out the duct, also vac and blow out the gas tube and the motor and vac up any lint that's in the cabinet, unplug the dryer, remove the top, then the control panel and then the front panel.put it back together and then go out side and make sure the duct is clear no cage or screen,go back inside, remove the vent line off of the back of dryer,if it's a long run to the outside stick a leaf blower into the vent line and blow it to the outside, put it back together and you should be fine.this should be done once a year with a gas dryer so you don't have any problems with parts or how it's running and most important you won't have a fire.if you need anymore help let me know.

I have an Amana gas dryer DLG330RAW that doesn't heat. When I turn on the dryer the ignitor glows red, and ignites a flame for about 5-10 seconds, then I hear a click and the flame shuts down. A few...

it sounds like there's a block somewhere in the system, unplug it,get a shop vac and a brush, vac up all the lint you can see then set the shop vac up to blow and blow all the lint off of the motor, out of the gas tube where the ignitor is and then clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, pull the vent line off of the back of the dryer and start it and see if that makes a difference, also on the blower wheel housing there's a cycling thermostat part number 37001136 that could be bad or if you use cling free sheets the back of the t-stat could be covered with the white powder from the sheets and lint, you can try cleaning the back of it off but it sounds like you have a block somewhere,if the dryer does run good after you clean it out and run it with the vent line off the block most likely is in the vent line,if it's a long run stick a leaf blower into the vent line and blow all the lint out of it to the outside, make sure there isn't a cage or anything outside that's blocking the vent.i know you say it's clear but check it again before you start changing parts it sounds like bad air movement.good luck and if possible let me know what you find.

Maytag atlantis gas dyer not heating

Can you look inside the door for your model number. I believe the problem is either a defective igniter or defective solenoid coils that open the gas valves=> 279834 Gas Valve Solenoid Set

My dryer stopped heating/drying. no heat is coming out. It went from drying 90% to nothing in 3 loads. blower is blowing..only cool air.

Upon starting you will hear a clicking noise which is the spark ignitor. If heard the two coils on the gas valve are the problem

Kenmore gas dryer will not start after drying a couple of loads, but will restart after letting it sit for about an hour.

sounds like the motor is overheating and probably needs to be changed out.when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer and how old is it?the dryer should be taken apart and cleaned out once a year if it's gas and once every two years if it's electric.there's an open flame in a gas dryer and i've seen the lint catch fire in some of them.you should clean out the outside vent,if the vent line is a long run from the back of the dryer to the outside vent i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and with a shop vac i blow out the motor and vac out the cabinet where the motor is and blow out the gas tube, the lint builds up on the dryer motor, overheats it and all the oil in the motor dries up,you can see it on the back of the drum and around the motor, you'll see lint stuck onto the back of the drum stuck in the oil and like a yellow stain on the frame and wall where the motor is and the motor starts overheating and cuts out when it gets hot, when it cools it will start again but one of these times it wont start at all.sometime you'll hear a loud buzz when you try to start it.the motor is easy to change, you need to decide if you want to put money into the dryer or change it out, good luck

Gas dryer starts blowing cold air after 5 minutes

This sounds like the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html

Natural gas to propane conversion LG dryer

You posted under a combo washer / dryer WD-4343RHD.
For a gas dryer, conversion is to replace Nat gas orifice with LP one (the LP orifice has a air hole going cross ways through it) plus screwing the regulator blocker (brass slot head screw on top of the gas valve) all the way down (if you missed that step, I would expect your symptoms). Also, make sure you have a good vent with strong air flow at the outdoor outlet. If poor vent, short cycling may occur.

After a few heating cycles the burner does not ignite

The problem you are describing is usually associated with a bad gas valve coil. The dryer runs normally until it gets hot, then starts making a strange clicking noise. After it cools down, the dryer runs normally again. The gas valve coils (there are two of them) usually run about $20 a piece. I recommend replacing both of them at the same time just to be sure. I hope this helps.

W1 Making noises....??

The W1 uses metal rings that slide in place with a tiny hole in the middle to give the required apperture it does not have a diaphram that closes and opens to give the apperture... so what you here is the sound of changing the suitable ring ( or disc) with the apperture ... You can look in the camera (lens side) and change appertures, you should be able to see this happen ... don't click with flash though :) The sound is very low though if you here a loud click there's something wrong.
