If you are getting a repetitive dot on the page and only blue then it is likely that your Cyan cartridge is bad.

You are spilling blue toner. Try to vacuum out the excess blue toner from the machine. Be careful not to scratch the transfer belt.

SOURCE: printing is printing blank sheet of paper

Lots of reasons here but usually it is because the software you are using to print is not compatible with the operating system anymore. Example: you used MS Photo Editor which was discontinued in 2003 and never supported under Windows XP. The one function that is broken is printing...it looks like it printed but a blank sheet of paper comes out. (exactly what you described)

Instead, use MS Picture and Fax Viewer or the follow-on product, MS Office Picture Manager.

If you remove the MS Photo Editor application under Control Panel/Software Programs then your picture files will open with a different (more print compatible and friendly) program.

SOURCE: Blank sheet before each printed page

Here's a simple solution. It's easy! Instead of it being the C7280 - it's the C7250 - should be the same driver however. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Problem printing multiple pages on one sheet!

The problem is the PCL5 driver.
Replace it with a PCL6 driver.

Apparently, Microsoft issued an update that broke PCL5 drivers.
Perhaps they were trying to save paper. LOL!

Can I print on both sides of the page

Here are the instructions for duplex printing.

The duplex printing function allows you to print data on both sides of a sheet of paper.

The procedure for performing duplex printing is as follows:

1. Open the printer driver setup window, and check the Duplex Printing check box on the Page Setup tab.

2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.

3. Specify Staple Side.

The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position. Check the Staple Side setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.

4. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.

5. Click OK.

sub.gifIf a media type other than Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:

When you execute print, the document will be printed on one side of a sheet of paper. When printing is complete, reload paper according to the displayed message and then click OK. The document will be printed on the opposite side.

sub.gifIf Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:

When you execute print, the document will be printed front and back alternately for one sheet at a time. Load the paper according to the displayed messages.

sub.gifDuplex Printing is unavailable when:

- A media type other than Plain Paper or Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected from the Media Type list.

- Poster Printing is selected from the Page Layout list.

Black dots/blotches on the sides of printed sheets - whats is the cause and how t to fix it

If you have random blotches on both sides of the sheet, your printer probably needs cleaning, especially in the fuser section. If the fuser is difficult to get at, here's a good cheat developed for HP LaserJet 6 printers: Use a basic graphics program such as Microsoft Paint to draw three solid black rectangles about 2.5" top to bottom, going all the way across the paper (the space in between is not critical - the key is that you go as close to edge-to-edge as you can get). Print out this sheet.

Put the sheet back in the paper tray so it will print on the blank side (usually printed side up). Open up a quick text processor (Notepad in Windows). Type a single space, then print (some text editors won't print a document with no data in it). Dirt in the fuser will get stuck to the black areas on your cleaning sheet. Test your work by printing another copy of " ". Repeat with a new cleaning sheet if necessary.

Note: When a media type other than Plain Paper, Photo Paper Plus Double Sided, or Postcard is selected in the Media Type menu, duplex printing cannot be performed.

  5. Specify Staple Side.
    1. The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position.
    2. Click the Staple Side drop-down arrow and select the setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.
    3. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width

  6. When the setting is completed, click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

    Note:
If a media type other than Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
The document will be printed on one side of a sheet of paper when printing starts. When printing is complete, reload paper according to the displayed message and then click OK. The document will be printed on the opposite side.

If Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
The document will be printed front and back alternately for one sheet at a time, when printing starts. Load the paper according to the displayed messages.

  7. You will be prompted, while printing, to remove the printed page and reload it in the ASF.

  8. Dependent on the number of pages to print, you will need to repeat step 7 until all pages have printed.

When printing the sheet of paper has 3 dots on the

Yes this could be the drum.

You could remove the drum and carefully look for the pattern of dots etc that you are getting on the page but on the drum surface.

I would suggest replacing the drum 1st and retrying.

If the black lines are just down one edge then the fuser could be to blame for the black marks but without being able to see the page i cant tell. The drum is certainly my 1st suspect and is easy for you to try.

Printed out a inkjet magnet sheet now won't anything else! Help!

OK Christina, did the whole magnet page come out without any missing tear outs or pieces? You probably have a stuck piece of sticky paper in your feed or rollers. Look in your manual for clearing paper jams and examine your rollers while your at it from stray pieces of paper.

NO CALIBRATION SHEET

Hello, you can print a calibration sheet from the front panel of the printer. Hit menu on the panel of the printer and scroll down to calibration printer and hit ok. Then hit ok on print calibration page and it should proceed to print a calibration page. After it is done printing, it will tell you to scan the calibration sheet.

Red line on last quarter of photos

I assume that the red line is not on the photos themselves (make sure this is the case - if they're scanned photos, it might be a scanner problem). If this is a 4" by 6" paper, set it in the printer after bending it in the opposite direction. 1) Set a sheet of paper on the printing side of the paper to be printed on. (If the print surface is touched by hand, the print surface may be soiled by skin oils, and the print quality may deteriorate.) 2) To bend the paper, hold the paper in a rounded shape for about 10 seconds. 3) Remove the paper not to be used in printing, and confirm that, when laid flat with the print side up, the center of the paper to be printed on is raised between 2 to 5 mm (0.2 in.) . 4) The curled paper to be printed on should be set in the printer, and printed, sheet by sheet. Canon recommends using Photo Paper Pro PC-101S 4" x 6" sized paper. When using PC-101S, printing is performed at the center of paper and streaks or uneven printing is avoided. If this is an A4 sized paper, try using Photo Paper Pro PR-101 paper, and make sure that the printing quality is set to "high" or "fine". If nothing helps, I would suggest trying a new ink cartridge. If you still have this problem and nothing solves it, call a repairman.
