To know if the phone is working, turn the ringer switch on & off. You should feel the phone vibrate.
It could be a battery issue too? Does the screen bulge up a bit in the center? If yes the battery needs relaplacing ASAP if not sooner, otherwise it will break the screen & possibly stuff the phone as well if battery leaks into the phone
