HDMI&DVI ports already used on LG HDTV.I have X BOX 360 S,has a HDMI plug, can I use a HDMI splitter to plug in the X BOX in the DVI port ?receiving computer via HDMI now

HDMI cable receiving TV, DVI port on my PC has DVI to HDMI adapter, & HDMI cable to DVI port on LG HDTV, which receives DVI with a HDMI port.

    I believe it was suggested I get a HDMI switch box, which I did. At Amazon.com, I got a HDMI switch box, that can receive 5 standard HDMI cables, and send the signal over 1 HDMI cable to, in this case the LG HDTV. The box is amazingly small, about 1/2 the size of a pack of cigarettes. It has a manual button for selecting HDMI input source #'s 1 through 5, AND it even included the smallest remote I've ever seen, to also select HDMI source #'s 1 through 5. REMEMBER to turn the power off of the device no longer being used !! The cost, including delivery was a total of $12.07 $Cdn.

    For a long time I have been upset that entertainment device sesigners have HDMI "OUT" ports, but NEVER" HDMI "IN" ports, to string a number of devices together to get all the video to my TV, and the sound to my home theater. NOW I am a happy man !!

You will not be able to split them, but they do make a HDMI Switcher, allowing you to use your Xbox 360 as number one and your PC as number 2, w you cannot mix both at the same time.

Is there a solution to update my LG 55G2-UG HDMI port to comply with an HDCP error between my tv and my Sony Receiver STR-DH590?
HDCP 2.2 wasn't released until 2014. The LG 55G2 was released in 2012. There's no way to upgrade the TV, unless you replace it. Using a splitter probably wouldn't help. The device sending the HDCP check needs every part of the HDMI cable daisy-chain system to send back a "Yes I understand" message in 20ms.

Since a receiver isn't usually sending copy-protected video, this message is coming from one of the devices. Reset the resolution for that device to 1080p. Based on your description of the problem, you need to change the video output on the cable box. This depends on the cable box model and the guide it uses. However, either turn off the receiver with the cable box and TV left on. Alternatively, connect the cable box to the TV directly. For some, you then press Menu (for the cable box) twice to get to general settings. Then enter the audio/video section and look for the video output formats. See https://www.spectrum.net/support/tv/hdtv-picture-formats for some of the reset steps. In some cases, you may need to use a different video output to the TV to get a picture, instead of the error message, to access the menu at all.

On my set-top box, I sometimes connect the RF output to the RF on the TV when the set-top box sends a "out of range" signal. I set the TV to channel 3 (in my case) and then reset the video format. Other times, I just get the blank screen but the menu still works to reset the output format.

Bought firestick, tv only has 1 hdmi connection. tv plugged into hdmi. tried plugging tv hdmi connector into splitter, fire stick into tv & vise versa. won't work with both of them plugged in.
This will mean that your TV will only accept 1 HDMI signal through that port meaning a splitter won't work unfortunately.
The only other option is to get an adaptor for another port that you do have spare on your TV, like AV or DVI.

Your TV didn't have any HDMI port. Do you mean the DVI port. do you use DVI cable or DVI to HDMI cable.
The only way to check whether the DVI port is working or not is by replacing the cable. purchase a new cable and try again.

You'll have to make sure you laptop is equipped with this port. Remember, there are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and PC's are equipped with a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this method will not work.
2. VGA - If you have a HDTV, then you will be better off connecting using a VGA cable. It gives much better quality than S-Video and as with S-Video, the cable is very cheap. You usually won't find a VGA port on regular TV's though, so this option is if you have an HDTV.
3. DVI - DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface with "digital" being the key word there. The digital signal will give a higher quality picture than either S-Video or VGA. Of course, your computer will need to have a DVI connection and your TV will need to be an HDTV. This cord is definitely not cheap, it ranges anywhere from $40 to $80.
4. HDMI - Using HDMI will give you the best quality by far. No computers that I know of yet have HDMI ports, but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV. HDMI is compatible with DVI.

All you need is an hdmi-dvi adapter. You will also need a component audio lead to plug into the mini(3.5) jack socket on the tv as dvi does not carry sound. You will need to initially use the scart to set up your tv for hdmi as the menu can only be seen via the scart until you set it up.
