I suggest you refer to the instructions for the specification.

The first requirement is fitting the charger socket and the next is having the correct polarity.

The type of battery is important and the required charge rate/time is also important. A lead/acid battery should ideally use a constant voltage charger. Ni-cads and similar should ideally use a constant current charger.

The vehicle might have it's own intelligent charging circuitry and just need a power supply but if this is not so then the more sophisticated the charger you buy, the longer life the batteries will have.
