You can try to strip a little bit of the jacket off the wires and twist them together securely. Then use a little bit of electrical tape to wrap the bare wire. After, you can tape the head piece back together...... or you could buy some new headphones.
Hi there fellow Champ user, these kind of headsets are made that way,so that the mic will be near to your mouth and it ill be easier for you to converse. Since the right earphone is longer in length, have it pass at the back of your neck going to the right ear, making it comfortable and lessening the tangles created by these wire headsets. However, if you want a tangle-free communication then get a bluetooth headset
The issue lies in the glass fiber wire, the wire is coated with a conductive metal only a fe mircons thick.
Simply put the headset is a poor production model, the use of glass fiber wire more often than not results in a short in the wiring. Thus the sound will come out of one side, not at all, etc.
that head set you have bourght, has a different pins for a mouth piece. (mic)
open the equipment and the three wires if its sterio, tip, ring and sleeve. sleeve is ground for both a mic and ear piece.
or check the ear piece wires with the jack connected to the set. use contnuiety resistance.
hello! take the ear piece and unfold it to 45 degrees, than pull it off . see the little splits on the end where the earpeace goes onto the body off the tooth? thats motos design for slipping it off the pins. than turn the earpiece around and put er back on. a little bit of a tussle till you get use to it. if your confused as i was put the earpeace on your other ear and the light will turn on and youll go (like me) oh yea!! i see, than youll go easy breezy. good luck. m.m.
Same thing happened to me. For about $5, I went to Home Depot and bought 24 gauge wire (about 5") and a pack of black heat-shrink plastic sleaves (1/8th inch or 3/16) from the electrical department. The 24g wire fits perfectly through the rubber slot after you pull out the broken ear hook. Use a pair of pliars to bend the wire to shape your ear (use the broken jabra ear hook as a template). Once you have the right shape and have filed down the sharp edges, slip the heat-shrink plastic sleave over the wire, making sure you leave the end piece that goes into the slot of the headset as bare metal. Use a hair-drier on high-heat to shrink the black plastic. Mine has worked perfectly for over a year and actualy fits better than the original.
hey kev..
all i can ask you is ... the following
1) open the ear piece of the non working .. then take a multimeter (keep meter in resistance mode) and check the resitance if its good it will show you.. apx 32 0hm and if its showing you 0 or .1 or below 16 ohms..
2) after you disconnect the speaker.. the broken one that is... chek the cable connectivity.. or rather continuity.. for this keep the meter in continuity mode the pervious resistance mode.. then take one wire and connect one prob from meter to it.. and take the other prob and connect ti too the pins of the cnnector.. ( here is there are 4 pins dedicated to the ear phone.. 2 for each.. nd they are towards the end sid.. just below the # key.. frm # key the last 4 pins connectors are for audio.. ) check the.. pins on the cord connector not the phone..
i hope you can find what wrong with your... head set now.. and yeah
if the speaker is out jsut replace both the ear piece with sony or aiwa earphones.. it wil work best
if your cable is gone then all the best buy a new
one
