The most likely root cause of the problem has been determined, and its step by step fix is also detailed if you have the skills to do that yourself. See the excellent detailed website posting by Dan Jensen on the Jag-lovers.org site forums.jag-lovers.org under avsn.php?1169101j41 . He describes what goes wrong in the $2800 ABS control electronic board, and that simply re-soldering a few heavy wires to the board will fix the trouble. But it requires some mechanical work to get that module out, and then some more work to saw the plastic case apart to get to that circuit board. - Best regards - MHH

SOURCE: 1999 jaguar xj8 with abs light on and stability

abs modules work very hard. by the age of your car it seems that the abs module is packing up. the abs system has sensors on all four wheels that figures out braking, stability and control of the car when cornering. these do brake down over time and is part of the wear and tear side of things. you don't need to buy a new one. they do overhaul these things for much cheaper. your car magazines should advertize the fixing of these things or contact a scrapyard for a secondahand one. check if the abs sensors are not faulty and replace them. do not go to the agents, they will rip you off. good luck

Diagnostic scan results were DTCs C1095 (Pump motor circuit failure) and B1676 (Low voltage. Battery out of range). What repairs are necessary?

The year, make, model, and description of the issue that you're having would be really helpful. Dtc' don't tell you what repairs are needed, they just give you an indication of where the problem may be. The low battery voltage code can most likely be disregarded. The pump motor circuit failure code indicates that there is a problem with the electrical on the pump motor either on the air ride system or the abs system. You need to trouble shoot the wiring to the pump motor. Make sure you have power and ground.

DTC P0675: Cylinder #5 Glow Plug Control Circuit
DTC P0676: Cylinder #6 Glow Plug Control Circuit
DTC P0677: Cylinder #7 Glow Plug Control Circuit
DTC P0678: Cylinder #8 Glow Plug Control Circuit

Circuit/System Description
The glow plug controller has the ability to perform internal checks, an open or a short to ground on each of the glow plug circuits. If the glow plug controller senses a problem in a glow plug circuit, the glow plug on the affected cylinder will be disabled and the glow plug controller will send an error message to the engine control module (ECM). If this condition exists, the DTC will set.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The glow plug controller detects that the glow plug control circuit is open, shorted to ground, or has more than 1 ohm of resistance.

Circuit/System Verification
Verify that DTC P064C is not set.
If DTC P064C is set, refer to DTC P064C.
Ignition ON, engine OFF, observe the scan tool Glow Plug 1-Glow Plug 8 parameters. All 8 Glow Plug parameters should closely match each other.
Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections if you cannot duplicate the conditions.
Engine running, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTCs P0671-P0678 should not set.

Have new brakes brake sensors all the way around new rotors also abs stability traction lights are still on how do i turn them off

Have you had the car diagnosed ? Need to have vehicle hooked up to professional type scan tool .Check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Brakes & rotors have nothing to do with electronics of the Anti-lock brakes an stability an traction control systems .Bad brakes & rotors will turn on the red brake light. The brake sensors as you call them are really wheel speed sensors . There is a EBCM - electronic brake control module , wheel speed sensors ,Plus some other thing's.
This vehicle is equipped with the DBC7.4 antilock braking system.
The vehicle is equipped with the following braking systems:
?€¢
Antilock Brake System (ABS)

?€¢
Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP)

?€¢
Traction Control System (TCS)

?€¢
Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES) (w/JL4)

The following components are involved in the operation of the above systems:
?€¢
Electronic brake control module (EBCM)--The EBCM controls the system functions and detects failures.

The EBCM contains the following components:

-
System relay--The system relay is energized when the ignition is ON and no ABS DTCs are present. It supplies battery positive voltage to the solenoid valves and pump motor.

-
Brake pressure sensors--The EBCM contains 2 brake pressure sensors that monitor applied master cylinder pressure to the wheels. The EBCM uses the brake pressure inputs to enhance VSES.

-
Vent tube--The vent tube, located in the EBCM connector, is an opening to the internal cavity of the EBCM. It allows ventilation of the EBCM internals.

?€¢
Brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV)--The BPMV contains the hydraulic valves and pump motor that are controlled electrically by the EBCM. The BPMV uses a 4 circuit configuration with a diagonal split. The BPMV directs fluid from the reservoir of the master cylinder to the left front and right rear wheels and fluid from the other reservoir to the right front and left rear wheels. The diagonal circuits are hydraulically isolated so that a leak or malfunction in one circuit will allow continued braking ability on the other.

Important: There is a rubber isolator located under the BPMV and on the mounting studs. The rubber isolators protect the BPMV and the EBCM from vehicle vibrations.

?€¢
The BPMV contains the following components:

-
Pump motor

-
Inlet valves (one per wheel)

-
Outlet valves (one per wheel)

-
Master cylinder isolation valves (one per drive wheel)

-
Prime valves (one per drive wheel)

?€¢
Wheel speed sensors (WSS)--As the wheel spins, the wheel speed sensor produces an AC signal. The EBCM uses this AC signal to calculate wheel speed. The wheel speed sensors are replaceable only as part of the wheel hub and bearing assemblies.

?€¢
Traction control switch--The TCS is manually disabled or enabled using the traction control switch.

?€¢
Brake pedal position (BPP) sensor--The EBCM receives a serial data message from the body control module (BCM) to indicate that the brake pedal is applied.

?€¢
Yaw rate sensor (w/JL4)--The EBCM uses the yaw rate sensor to determine the rate of rotation along the vehicle's vertical axis. The yaw rate sensor is packaged with the lateral accelerometer as a single component.

?€¢
Lateral accelerometer (w/JL4)--The EBCM uses the lateral accelerometer to determine the sideways acceleration of the vehicle. The lateral accelerometer is packaged with the yaw rate sensor as a single component.

?€¢
Steering wheel position sensor (SWPS) (w/JL4)--The EBCM uses the SWPS as an indication of the position and rotation of the steering wheel.

Abs light on codes 1095 1230 1102

C1095 refers to a noticed failure with the ABS pump motor. C1230 and C1102 refers to a failure with the rear ABS wheel speed sensor. You may have two separate issues but I think if you inspect the wiring, and it is fine. Replace the rear speed sensor and that should fix your problem. Please write back if you need more help, good luck.

SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM
Refer to ABS Description and Operation in Antilock Brake Systems Vehicles with RPO JL4 are equipped with an EBC 430EV ABS/DRP/TCS/VSES module.
This module provides the following vehicle performance enhancement systems.
• Antilock Brake System (ABS)
• Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP)
• Traction Control System (TCS)
• Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES)
The following components are involved in the operation of the above systems.
• Electronic brake control module (EBCM) - The EBCM controls the system functions and detects failures.
The EBCM contains the following components.
- System relay - The system relay is internal to the EBCM. The system relay is energized when the ignition is ON. The system relay supplies battery positive voltage to the valve solenoids and to the ABS pump motor. This voltage is referred to as system voltage.
- Solenoids - The solenoids are commanded ON and OFF by the EBCM to operate the appropriate valves in the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
- Longitudinal Accelerometer - The EBCM uses the longitudinal accelerometer to determine the actual straight-line acceleration of the vehicle.
• Brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) - The BPMV uses a 4-circuit configuration to control hydraulic pressure to each wheel independently.
The BPMV contains the following components.
- ABS pump motor and pump
- Four isolation valves
- Four dump valves
- Two TC isolation valves
- Two TC supply valves
- A master cylinder pressure sensor
- A front low-pressure accumulator
- A rear low-pressure accumulator
• Wheel speed sensors (WSS) - As the wheels spin, toothed rings interrupt magnetic fields in the wheel speed sensors. This causes each wheel speed sensor to generate an AC signal. The EBCM uses these AC signals to calculate the wheel speed. Any imperfections in the toothed ring, such as a missing or damaged tooth, can cause an inaccurate WSS signal.
• Traction control switch - VSES and the engine torque reduction function of TCS are manually disabled or enabled by pressing the traction control switch.
• Lateral accelerometer - The EBCM uses the lateral accelerometer to determine the sideways acceleration of the vehicle. The lateral accelerometer is packaged with the yaw rate sensor as a single component.
• Master cylinder pressure sensor - The master cylinder pressure sensor is located within the BPMV. The master cylinder pressure sensor uses a 5-volt reference and generates an output signal proportionate to the hydraulic fluid pressure which is present in the front brake circuit at the master cylinder.
• Yaw rate sensor - The EBCM uses the yaw rate sensor to determine the rate of rotation along the vehicle's vertical axis. The yaw rate sensor is packaged with the lateral accelerometer as a single component.
• Steering wheel position sensor - The electronic brake control module (EBCM) receives several inputs from the steering wheel position sensor. 3 digital square wave signal inputs are wired directly to the EBCM harness connector, however, only signals A and B are used or monitored. The failure of the index pulse signal does not effect VSES function. The body control module (BCM), which receives an analog steering position sensor input, transmits steering position data on the serial data line. The EBCM monitors the serial data information as an added failsafe for the steering position sensor circuitry. Battery voltage is supplied to the digital portion of the steering wheel position sensor from the cruise control fuse. The analog portion of the steering wheel position sensor is supplied a 5-volt reference from the BCM. This circuit is also used for a lamp dimming function.
• Precharge pump motor and pump - The precharge pump assembly is used to assist the ABS pump in rapidly building hydraulic pressure needed during certain TCS or VSES events

My traction and stability controll failure lights along with my ABS warning light are constantly on

i believe they are related to a abs problem. the car uses the abs to control the stability (braking on certain wheels when nessisary) there is probably a malfunction in the abs system that's why the light is on constantly. this would need to be looked at by a professional repair facility.
