Check to see if the compressor on the outdoor unit is running, if so it could possibly have a refrigerant leak or faulty 4 way valve

SOURCE: ptac fan keeps blowing

Try setting the fan control to "AUTO" this will cause it to cut out with the compressor.

SOURCE: Amana PTAC PTC093A35AA won't blow heat

The reset button is located behing a panel on the front of the unit that is labeled Heat Reset. If that label is gone then look around, it is a small hole, small enough for a paper clip to fit through.
That being said, I have 137 of these units in one of my hotels and have not had a single one needing to be reset. You probably are going to need a new control board kit. These can be purchased from Amana. They are $130. Make sure that you have pulled the heater coil out and inspected it first. Also, there was a recall years ago where Amana was supposed to contact and send out new voltage switches. These are the round black things that the Brown heater wires connect to on the upper and lower side of the heating coil. You should also try to replace those if you find the coil in good condition. I have had those resolve heating issues. Most of the heating issues were a result of a bad relay on the control board though.
Please remember to rate this fix.

SOURCE: Amana PTAC

I know this is late but I had to add a solution to this problem since I had the exact same problem and was able to solve it. The probelm is not your control board. On these units, the heat pump compressor will not kick in unless the temperature you set on the control panel is within 2-1/4 degrees (or 4 degrees depending on your unit model. Otherwise, the unit locks out the compressor until the electric heat coil bring the indoor temperature up to that level - and then will switch the compressor back on for heat pump operation. So the problem is not the control panel or the compressor, it the electric heat coil. The coil has two manual limit switches on it that may be tripped and should be checked. The coil can be easily accessed by shutting down the power, removing 4 screws around the air outlet, pushing the screen up and sliding the panel out the top. The power wires can remain in place while the limit switches are reset. Hope it works.

I have an amana heat pump a/c PTAC unit 14700 btu and it seems the compressor is not engaging or blowing cold air

could be a bad run capacitor or the unit needs to be cleaned take it outside and wash the condenser coil the outside coil and the evap coil on the inside be careful not to get the electric circuits inside the unit wet. I would wash the coils first and then see if it cools. Hope this helps

I have a Amana Ptac that used to cool, now it does not cool down to the temperature that you set to. Cold this be low coolant?

Yes it could be but more than likley it just needs to be cleaned properly the system is factory sealed and its extremely unlikley it would develop a leak. Make sure the coils are clean and fans are running

I need a manual for a Amana PTAC model PTH123A35AC. I been looking for one & just can't find it. Please any suggestions, thanks.

Here's a good place to start: http://www.h-mac.com/brands/cooling-brands/amana.html

The Amana PTAC PTH123A35AC is obsolete and replaced by the Amana PTH123E35AXXX. The literature is similar. Search out your model # and than visit the "literature" tab to find everything's that available. Everything from service manuals to parts manuals. Good luck!

Have Ptac units that work fine one minute and 2 hours later just blow warm air.. some that also freeze up the front coils

I think your PTAC is under charge, if the air filter is clean and the evaporator is also clean together with the blower. Check the freon charge and refill if suction pressure is below 50psi and discharge is below 190 psi.

Amana ptac ac turn on runs short time on cool and go to fan mode warm air.

If this unit has the old style control with the knob instead of the digital control panel
then I would suspect this first. This is the first component to fail on these units. I have
replaced two already and the kit has good instructions and all components.
Takes approximately an hour to do and mount the new sensors. (The transformer is
hidden beneath the sheetmetal just below the control board). You should be able to order this kit through any appliance parts store for around 175 dollars versus almost
800 dollars for a new PTAC. Hope this is helpful.

AMANA PTH153B35AE PTAC Temp drop??

PTAC temp drop should be 20 to 25 degrees across the coil. They never put a service tap on these units. I sell Amana PTACs. You may be alittle low on gas. Check your air TD and that will tell you. The compressor may be overheating due to lack of cool gas to cool the comp. May need a service tech but get a free estimate first. Rus
