SOURCE: Hi, Dyson DC25 brush bar very

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. If the cleaner feels heavy to push, it may simply be due to the machine's powerful suction - the soleplate is engineered to form a close seal with the floor surface for high pick-up. The tracklines on the carpet are nothing to worry about - they're a normal feature of operation of the revolving brushbar.

It's also normal for the exhaust air from the motor to become warm after a period of use. I note you've stated that the filters are clean, but you might want to take a look at the video embedded below to check you've washed them correctly. Under normal use, they should be rinsed under cold water at least once every 3 months, and allowed to air-dry. No detergents should be used.

If you have any further concerns about your DC25, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide the assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 - our Helpline is open from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week.

    Kind regards,

SOURCE: Dyson DC41 animal complete stuck in upright

The wheels are probably jammed and won't recline. Mine was stuck pretty bad, and after a half hour of trying to figure it out I just picked up the vacuum and slammed the wheels pretty hard, and it came loose. No problem since. Pushing on it hard did nothing, and gave me the impression I could break the vacuum, but all it needed was a good jolt.

Dyson animal loss of suction only in base makes a popping sound and feel very warm

    Hi Chris,

It's normal for your machine to become warm in use - like most Dyson vacuums, DC41 Animal will shut itself down for protection if it starts to overheat.

However, the popping sound and change in performance you've described suggest that something is blocking the machine. This is simple to resolve following our online troubleshooting checks: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc41/dc41-irspu/diagnosis-root-menu/performance-flo-area-check-dc41/flo-brushbarvid-dc41/redirect-to-performance-flo-base-dc41-checking-the-internal-hose/performance-flo-base-dc41-checking-the-internal-hose

It's also a good idea to give the filters a wash - in normal use this should be done at least once every three months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for the filters to dry completely before replacing them.

If you'd like further advice after you've given this a try, please give our experts a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dc41animal leaves obvious tracks on beige carpet

Hi Alan, it's Jack at Dyson.

Like all Dyson upright vacuums, DC41 Animal includes a motor-driven rotating brush bar. This includes stiff nylon bristle tufts which sweep into the carpet pile, agitating out dust, grit and stubborn pet hair. This will also have the effect of raising the carpet pile where it's been trodden down from daily use - this is what causes the tracks you've noticed. You can see how DC41's brush bar and cleaner head are engineered to work in the video I've attached.

It is possible to turn off the brush bar using the silver brush control switch next to the red on/off switch. However, the brush bar is an important factor in effective carpet cleaning and we would always recommend vacuuming carpets with the brush bar turned on - with the exception of delicate carpets or rugs.

It does sound like your machine is working correctly, in the way it was designed. I hope this information is useful to you, but if you would like some further advice, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

    Plush carpet setting on vaccuum?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC41 Animal's cleaner head is designed to self-adjust to different floor types - so you don't need to bend down to adjust a dial. You can see how this feature works in the video below. In addition to this, next to the red on/off switch you'll see a silver brush control switch, which allows you to turn off the brush bar for hard floors and delicate carpeting.

Carpet manufacturers sometimes recommend vacuuming certain types of carpeting with the brush bar turned off - we'd suggest checking directly with the manufacturer of your carpets to ensure you're cleaning them correctly.

If you'd like any further advice on using your DC41 Animal, please email us at [email protected] and one of our experts will be in touch as soon as possible.

    Best wishes,

    Jack
