Read your user manual. If you don't have one either Google your model number + user manual or phone/e-mail F&P and ask for one.

Switch to Powdered Detergent and you wont have to clean your washer. Liquids leave a smelly, corrosive residue on the inside of the machine, use only Powder and leave the lid up when not in use to defeat the slime!

How do I start the self cleaning? I hit clean and it does not start

On most self-cleaning ovens after you push the clean cycle button you have to tell it how long you want it to clean. Try pushing clean then pushing 3:00 for 3 hrs. If you don't have a number pad try pushing the clean pad several times and see if it cycles through clean levels like low, med or high. Then after you tell it how long to clean hit start. If you don't have a start button the oven should start cleaning after around 5 seconds. It will lock the door and begin the clean cycle. Also remember it takes around an hour for the oven to cool and unlock after the cycle is finished. Hope that helps.

How to self clean...no owner manual

Before cleaning, remove the racks and other items in the oven. Clean the oven frame and door frame outside of the gasket with a nonabrasive cleanser like Bon Ami. Wipe up any excess grease or sugary and acidic spills by hand. Turn off the oven light. Ventilate the kitchen well.

Then press the Clean pad once for immediate start. Press Auto Start to increase the cleaning cycle to three hours. Press a second time to get a 4 hour cleaning cycle or three times to return to the two hour cycle. Cleaning and LOC plus the cleaning cycle time will be displayed on the oven. After the cleaning cycle is complete, the Cleaning will no longer be displayed. However, the LOC will remain on until the oven cools down (approximately one hour). You will not be able to open the oven until the LOC message disappears.

Press the Clean Pad twice for a delayed start. Then use the Auto Start button to determine the delay for the cleaning cycle. The rest of the steps will remain the same.

The manual is available from the following site: http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search_results.jsp?searchTerm=JES9800A&siteCd=JA_EN_US&userType=Consumer .

I hope this helps.

Self clean

Usually the oven has to be locked closed with a handle on on the front door. This will activate a safety mechanism that will allow the cleaning cycle to start. If the safety switch is malfunctioning or the door is not closed properly, the cleaning cycle won't start.

Self cleaning oven will not start for cleaning door lock problem

hi alot of people have been having this same problem with either the door locking before clean cycle and not opening or it goes through clean cycle and then the door is stuck shut and wont open.
You could try this it sometimes works before you press start push the door shut and keep pressure on it i mean lean on the door so your pushing it shut further than it is now then whilst putting pressure on the door try pressing start button again if it then starts cleaning cycle keep pushing door for about a minute then gently let go of the door.
This should then allow it to go through clean cycle but remember when clean cycle has finished dont try opening the door strait away as you will then have the problem door stuck and wont open you need to let the oven cool down before the door will open.
If after pushing the door shut a bit further you still have problem then the only thing you can try is switching off at mains for 24 hours this should release the lock let me know how you get on ok
