My irobot 530 is not collecting any dirt in its bin. Why would that be?

Most common issue is the filter is clogged try washing it out make sure you let it dry completely before putting it back in. replacement filters are available on ebay last time I checked they were 3 for under $10

The 530 uses a vacuum suction along with the spinning motion of the brushes to pick up dirt make sure its making a vacuuming sound if not could be only the brushes are moving and a motor has died on you.

lastly make sure that the brushes are spinning freely remove the tray that holds the brushes and clean it out with compressed air. the tray easily removes by first taking off the lower pan and removing the 4 screws that holds the tray in place. There are no wires to unplug when doing this.

hope that helps.

What parts go to a Kirby Shampooer?

There is a shampooer head with shampooer brushroll, water tank, small hose that hooks to the tank, collection tray

Need to use the Kirby shampoo. It goes down as wet suds but you pick up the suds with the vacuum when it drys. Fill tank adding 1 cap full of soap (kirby soap only) per level on the side, this attaches on the side where the bag is attached

After using the shampooer you need to reattach the vacuum bag and main brushroll nozzle as though you were just vacuuming up dirt.

Instructions:

Lift the front of your kirby up (front part with light) open the handle on the dail in the front (if epquipt), remove the power head, put on height adjustment on highest level, turn dial on front of power head until you see 2 red arrows facing each other, unlock by turning knob, power head should come right off, get shampooer out the power head for shampooer with collection tray, make sure dial is set red on red, put on front of Kirby and lock in, turn dial to green on green arrows, fill tank adding 1 cap full of soap (Kirby soap only) per level on the side, this attaches on the side where the bag is attached, line up arrow and notch and turn, to hook up hose put Kirby down to lowest level, notched end of hose hooks in on tray other end on the tank,on/off switch refers to the foam, Turn machine on to lay the foam & scrub carpet, take shampooer back off to extract the foam once it's dry.

Good luck.

My Kirby shampooer - G4 - hardly used any water from the tank and no suds at all. Pet hair did blow out of the small slotted holes in the tray as I moved the shampooer back and forth, but the carpet was...

Few things:
Make sure the sponge and the valve under the sponge (water tank) is clean.
Make sure you follow the instructions (f you do not have the manual you can find one HERE)
See if the straw inside the water tank is not clogged (happens when you use toilet tissue or some other paper to dry inside of the tank after you shampoo)

Noise - if it is noisy al the time - it may need new shampooer brush roll. Also check the tray - bar brush roll bearings overheat and melt the tray... Never submerse brush roll in water when cleaning it. Clean it simply by lifting the shampooer nozzle and letting it spin for 10-20 seconds. If you have tu put it under running water - put it back in the shampooer nozzle (with tray and shield) put on Kirby and turn it on for 20 seconds or so. If it stays soaken wet - moisture damages barings.

Good luck

My G series kirby carpet cleaner will not **** up the water or foam very well

The Kirby shampooer deposits the foam onto carpet, and works it into the carpet with the shampooer brushroll. After the carpet is dry,use the vacuum itself to pick up the dry foam and dirt. The Kirby Shampooer is not an extraction shampooer

Intructions?

Yes indeed the processes is very simple.

You're going to take the front end off like you normally would, but you also need to detach the bag so you will then grip on to the handle under the mini emptor, that's the plastic thing is connected to, there is a grip under that you will grip and turn it towards you.

Once it's loose you will then fill the shampoo tank. The solution calls for one shampoo tank cap full of Kirby suds to one part of water, and you can find the water parts labeled on the side of the tank. Use ONLY Kirby suds, I've tried other brands of suds and they didn't dry as fast as Kirby does and Kirby smells better anyway.

Second you want to put the tank on the exhaust port of the Kirby where you took the bag off. You will see there are little buds on the port mouth and there are grooves on where the shampooer tank attaches to the port mouth, line the bud up with the grooves on the tank and push towards the handle.

Next you're gonna hook up the shampoo tray like you would the beater bar. Next you're going to hook up the shampooer hose and you will put the smooth end on the small port on the tank and the other end on the hole in the middle of the tray.

Then you should be ready to go all you do then is turn the vacuum on without the suds on, and put it all the way down. Then you turn the suds on full blast and put the vac in drive and go. Not too fast but not too slow either just go a bit slower then when you vacuum on back and forth strokes. Well, hope full this solves your problem!
